My biggest concern after reading 343’s most recent post is that it seems that there are no plans for ranked doubles (or any other ranked playlists, for that matter). What gives? Please tell me I’m missing something…

They previously stated its impracticable to add playlists because of the ui system limits.

They didn’t clarify what the new playlists will be, so you may see new ranked playlists, depends.

Are you serious?!?! Man I miss that. If this is the case then there UI/engine is the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever seen!
If they seriously think this game can survive 10-years and have one ranked playlist then they are the some of the most delusional people ever!
If there isn’t a ranked team slayer playlist by the next season I can honestly say that I’m more less done with this game. And my friends that I play with will also be done. I enjoy playing non-ranked and we all like to have the odd game of BTB and every now and then but 90% of the time we play ranked team slayer. We just want Ranked team Slayer!!! And I know a lot of other people do too. We don’t want to play CTF or strongholds or oddball or whatever in ranked.
Why they can’t have social playlists, ranked playlists, and then their MLG/HCS playlist(s) is beyond me!!! This system has worked pretty well in the past so I don’t know why they went away from it.
I’m sure the people at 343I And the higher-ups are nice great people but I am basically at my wits end with them. I’m just done. I don’t understand their way of thinking, I don’t understand the logic behind most of their decisions I just don’t understand almost anything they do and it’s mind-boggling. I’ve been playing Halo since the first month that CE came out, so I’m not some new fan or anything, nor are most of my friends And we are all just out of wits end. None of us understand there decisions (this also includes the Halo TV show but that’s a totally different topic)

I believe 343 thinks it is, and he was just conveying their position.
I was thinking before launch that infinite would be a complete game, minus forge and coop, which would be out before season 2, or at least with season 2.
Tons of content coming in those 10 years.
The realization im trying to accept is that its going to take the remaining 9 years just to have a complete game, with tons of mtx in those 9 years.
With forge and pve monetized too.
There shouldve been at least 5 ranked playlists at launch.
Really dunno what to say.

So you SERIOUSLY think that if there is 1 ranked playlist for 10 years, this game will be relevant? Do you think MOST people are going to care about this game in even 3 years if there’s no ranked playlists or just the one? Hell no! Sure there will always be people that will play it and will like certain things but Microsoft doesn’t want their flagship game to be at the bottom of the most played game charts and not relevant and not in social media and not being talked about. That’s not good for business!
It’s not biased bro! Look at the last, I don’t know how many Halo games and see what the most played playlists were. When they ACTUALLY had ranked, Team Slayer was always 1 or 2. When they didn’t have rank playlists, like in Halo 4 the game did HORRIBLY And became irrelevant real quick!!!
You can hate ranked all you like but it’s ranked playlists, like team Slayer that will keep the game relevant, especially in this day and age with social media and streaming and all that garbage.
So yeah, I’m not being biased. Your not going to get a lot of people watching social matches of Team Slayer by whatever streamer I can tell you that!! It’s just factual that ranked playlists, especially something like Team Slayer are popular and keep the game in the spotlight, again because of things like social media. Twitch and all this kind of crap. Something that 343I and Microsoft want obviously.
To be clear, I want this game to succeed and like many others I like the base gameplay. I’ve been playing Halo for a long bloody time (since CE) but this game has one pile of issues! And it’s not a good look man. Halo infinite is in a terrible place right now. It might not be later on, But we don’t know. One could easily argue that this launch is almost as bad as the MCC.
So if you want to make the case to me and many other people that Halo doesn’t need any more than one ranked playlist, and can be crazy successful, relevant and make piles of money please…speak away.

Tell that to Fortnite, CoD, Apex, GTA, Roblox, RSS, D2, NBA 2k, Forza…
Unless the game is a straight up E-sports game, than not having ranked doesn’t mean the game will die.
And yes, I know those games have competitive features, but that is not the main draw of the games
Even weirder, theres no clan or fireteam abilities.
Theres barely any stats.
Infinite should have launched with;
- Ranked 2v2
- Ranked 4v4
- Ranked Btb
- Ranked snipers
- Ranked objective
At least
With new ideas for social, like vertical grapple maps.

Halo 4 died completely in less than 6 months.
Halo 4 had more issues than just a lack of ranked modes

343 started at halo 5 to offer the less playlist they can… they always say they want healthy playlist (big population).
343 are incompetant , they don’t realize its decision like that ( few playlist) that make leave player.
