Didn’t they say there would be a classic playlist at launch a while back? I could have sworn someone said this. I thought it was mentioned in a bulletin.
Slayer Pro might be it…not sure though.
I thought they said it would be added in later. I’m pretty sure after they add forged maps to the hopper.
> Slayer Pro might be it…not sure though.
Nothing about the Slayer Pro settings is classic.

Are you talking the Classic in Reach with a 3shot kill mag? Or a ‘classic’ thing from the games before?

Nothing specific. Just some kind of gametype that’s a throwback to classic Halo. While Bungie always added new features in each game, the base gameplay remained pretty similar. Like with weapon spawns on map, no sprint (I know now this is impossible. Thanks 343), no loadouts, no weapon drops, kill cams, ect. When people were complaining about all the CoD features they added I remember they said don’t worry there will be a classic playlist for those of you who don’t want all the new changes.
If it has sprint, it isnt classic. Thus there will never be a real classic playlist in H4.
clasic to reach maybe…
classic to me is no sprint AA’s weapons pick-up on map no ordnance
> If it has sprint, it isnt classic. Thus there will never be a real classic playlist in H4.
I’d settle for classic with sprint. I’d rather not, but I’ll take what I can get. I hate Slayer Pro.
> Nothing about the Slayer Pro settings is classic.
Then no. Throw a lanparty together and play CE, and you’ll have your classic.

Same here. Slayer Pro is awful.
Because of the way the settings are in Slayer Pro,personally I view it as a ‘beta’ version of a Classic Playlist.Maybe 343 were going to monitor the number of Slayer Pro pop. and the people who want 'classic back on the forums, and decide to actually implemented it in the game.

Ugh one of these guys. You have your “new and evolved” Halo gameplay. Are you seriously going to look down on those of us who don’t like perks and killcams for just wanting a classic playlist where we can enjoy Halo without all of the CoD features? Some of us actually played Halo over CoD and Battlefield because it was an arena shooter in which weapons spawned on the map and everyone started on even ground. I just want a playlist where I can play what made me love Halo in the first place.

You are correct. 343 Industries did state, on multiple occasions, that classic offerings would be available on day one of Halo 4. I’m not about to dig up the sources, but I know they are there. Unfortunately, there is only one playlist that somewhat resembles “Classic” Halo gameplay.
> Team Slayer Pro – 4 v. 4
> This playlist features the following settings: No Radar, 3 Loadouts (DMR, AR or BR with 1 grenade and Resupply Tactical Package), Player Movement Speed, Reload Speed and Weapon Swap Speed set to 110%, Friendly Fire ON, Score to win Round 60 Kills, No Map Loadouts, and No Custom Loadouts.
Loadouts, Specializations, Killcams, and Sprint were never part of Classic Halo from the original trilogy. My thoughts are somewhat echoed in your following statements:

When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
-Always Hope
Classic playlists = Slayer Pro
Slayer Pro is as close as you are going to get at launch.
I believe Reach did not have Classic playlist at launch either.
343 is just testing the waters at launch to see what playlists are popular and what they have planned. Just give it time.
Slayer Pro should be fun, cannot wait to play it actually but looks like from release that “Classic” Halo will be impossible to create.
-You can’t disable sprint
-Can’t make the flag droppable
-Can’t disable auto pick up of the Oddball or Flag
-Can’t add Powerups
-No Assault
Not sure if you can disable the weapon waypoints either.
I believe our good friend Frankie said that we would be getting a classic playlist AT LAUNCH. But, i guess they had better things to do.

This is what I don’t understand. Why did 343i make it impossible to remove these new features, even in customs? Aren’t more choices better than a few? Why not allow for the possibility of creating “classic” Halo playlists/custom games, regardless of whether 343i actually uses them in official playlists? More choice for the player is never a bad thing.

Because they’re all about the ££ or $$ and want to suck in the CoD community, it seems that they want to destroy everything classic to Halo, I.E everything that made Halo, Halo.
This is just a silly excuse I’ve made up, but it wouldn’t surprise me if it was true, although I still look forward to playing the game.
