Pretty sure 343 said multiple times that a blur cutscene would be before and after each mission. Kinda disappointing, campaigns fun nonetheless but still. Anyone else remember them saying that?
No.
I get that they try to tell a story through gameplay but when you have Blur Studios do your cutscenes, that seems more like a hindrance.
They never said there’s be a Blur cutscene after each mission. At all.
No. Link to the statement, if it exists??
No. But if you are confused like this, it’s because they did act like the Blur cutscenes were a big deal. They did use the Blur cutscenes as a selling point. And fanboys used the Blur cutscenes again and again as an argument to say “ATN is worth the price and should not be in the Season pass”. Underwhelmed huh ?

No to this as well. At least the last part. I thought they were really good. The Flood reveal was superb. The DLC was well worth the price tag. But that’s my opinion and I’m sure someone will jump at me saying I HAVE to say that or something.
“but vampire skills u mod so u get payed to say dees stuff”

All they said was that the campaign would be bookended by Blur cutscenes. They said that multiple times
I’m satisfied with what I got.

Whats the difference? Lol Like im not asking for a blur cutscene before and after each mission. It just seems cheap to have them for the first mission (The one that got debuted on IGN and such) and then go the rest of the campaign without them until the last mission. I let it slide for the ODST campaign bc that was $5 but this just seems like the cut corners honestly. Is AtN worth $20? Probably. But I think there should have been more blur cutscenes.

People seem to be confused as to what a season pass is. It does not mean you get all the content they make for the game ever. Yet that’s what everyone’s pissed about it seems.

A “bookend” is a sort of support that keeps books standing.
“Bookended” in this case heavily implies that there’s a Blur cinematic at the start of the campaign, then each mission is a book, and it’s all kept together with the last Cinematic at the end of the campaign.
Cheap? Yes, because Blur cinematics are expensive, very expensive. Had there been more Blur cut-scenes you would probably look at a more expensive DLC.

Lol I very much doubt that and I hate when people say “it’s expensive”! Thats not an excuse for a gaming studio that makes millions of dollars off DLC, Season passes, and microtransactions. Don’t sell yourself a cheapened product. Everyone made it seem like there would be a lot of blur cutscenes. Why didn’t 343 let us know there’d only be one for the first mission and one for the last mission? Because they were embarassed by the lack of cutscenes. Heck the main campaign for the game barely had any. Sad.

I absolutely agree with you. 343 really should have added “btw, there are only like two blur cutscenes in this cheap expansion we’ve got planned because we couldn’t afford anymore, sorry fans!” in their marketing scheme. It definitely would have boosted sales and upped the hype.
(insert 343 are sly disinformative liars rant here)
Apologies if I appear particularly hostile here, just using the sarcasm to get the point across, no offence intended!

Doubt what? That the DLC would have been more expensive had they added more rendered cinematic cut-scenes? Feel free to doubt.
Okay then, let’s take a look at it.
First and foremost, why exactly would you need more cut-scenes? The first one establishes the DLC, it’s the Intro. Second one reveals the big new threat, showcases eye-candy for the action lovers and it portrays the beginning of the chaos the Banished find themselves in. Last one is the finale of the DLC which closes the chapter. What exactly would you have added in there? More flood killing?
They don’t need more Cut-scenes because there’s nothing more to show inbetween the missions that’s worthwhile to portray in a cut-scene. Any dialong between missions is perfectly handled in the loading segments. We move from mission to mission with nothing big inbetween them, basically it’s the brothers getting breathers from close to non-stop flood-killing-action. Even then, they probably weren’t left alone that much in their breathers either. So what does happen is that they transport from place to place, and they meet up eventually. Most notable thing there would be them meeting up, how would you have done that?
If you look at the main game, it pretty much follows the same routine. No need to spend more money than needed on things that will not increase the value a lot. Halo Wars 1 overdid it with cut-scenes.
Who exactly made it sound like there were cut-scenes littered through the campaign? Considering i343 stated quite a while ago it was “bookended”.
Then let’s consider the time it’d take to make these cut-scenes. It takes a while. Even the rendering alone will take a significant amount of time. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if the cut-scenes were made with the cut-scenes for the main game, just to save the hassle.
I don’t know about you or them, but I value gameplay more than a pre-rendered cut-scene, perhaps they do too seeing as the Blur cutscenes weren’t important enough for them to talk about more than they did.
Cheapened product? Myes, I’m sure the DLC could have been made for even less money, skipping the Blur stuff altogether, using only ingame top-view to display what happens. I wouldn’t have been surprised if it had been that way.
So, what exactly is missing?

Well at the end of the day it’s their mess, they should clean it up!
