I’m hoping to see a true Mark VI remake come out at some point. One that looks exactly like the Halo 2 / Halo 3 Mark VI, and not the Halo 4 / Halo 5 Mark VI

No he didnt, Mark V (A) is a variant of Mark V. Chief wore the standard mark V that’s why it looks different in halo 5.
Mark V (A) is a different variant from the armor that Chief wears (Mark V), that’s why this one looks incredibly different from the one that we know.
In the live stream, they mentioned more Mark V variants. I’m excited, and hope 343 will get the true H1 armor correct.

They won’t include the ‘classic’ CE helmet because you can just wear the Mark IV MJOLNIR helmet and it will look almost completely Identical.
I know the armor looks different but (A) and (B) just refers to new classifications to old armor.
They can keep all the Mark armor variants, they look ugly as hell anyway.

Mark V Alpha - An armour set we have not seen before untill now.
Mark V Beta - An armour set that Spartan-III’s wore, most notibly is Noble Team with Noble Six using the base set and the rest using different variations of it.
Mark V - The finished armour set, this was first seen in Combat Evolved as Master Chief wore this untill his return to earth. This set is heavly based off its alpha version but improving on its look aswell as taking some features from the beta version. This armour was then seen again in Halo 3 as just the helmet, same with Reach and then the full armour set was in Halo 4.
This is BASIC stuff, its shocking how people can get this stuff mixed up. It even says in reach that the default armour is Mark V and cheif is clearly wearing the finished product. Why on earth would he downgrade to alpha when the beta and even finished product are out there. Common sense people, please use it.

What this guy said. You have your Marks mixed up. Mark V was worn by chief in Halo CE, Mark IV was worn by chief when he first started out as a spartan, Mark V was worn by noble six and Mark V [a] is a new variant that is apparently an improvement off the old Mark V

343 have already stated that the visual change between Halo 3 and Halo 4 were due to graphical upgrades, that plus the armour Cheif is wearing has been heavly modified by Cortana, she has access to the ships systems, you really think she wouldn’t be able to do some tweaking?
Also to back up what 343 said, look at Cheifs right breast plate in Halo 3, notice that scrape from when he went flying into the forerunner ship at the end of Halo 2? Now look at his graphicaly upgraded armour in Halo 4. Whats that? A scrape on his right breast plate, now i wonder how that got there because im sure it wasn’t from being in cryo…

Master chief got the scratch on his new Mark VI again in halo 4 when he crashed into Requiem
Wouldn’t the Alpha designation of the armor only refer to the variant compatible with GEN 2 MJOLNIR? Mark V is what Noble 6 wore. The original, standard Mark V is what Chief used. I assume that most of the other Spartan-IIs switched to Mark V when they were able to. Those that couldn’t stuck with Mark IV. What they could do is release an armor set based on the newer iterations of Mark V, as seen in Halo 4, with elements of the redesign from Combat Evolved Anniversary.
