Yeah Halo 5’s multiplayer was really underrated.
i thought 5 was pretty well know for having a bad campaign but a surprisingly good mp, even if some say “it’s not halo” it was still a fun halo game.
of all the things to critical of in Halo Infinite, having to pay for cosmetics you ‘want’ shouldn’t be one of them.
… you do understand that 343/Microsoft need to make a few bucks off the game right?
the multiplayer, which I’m sure you’ve already sunk plenty of hours into, is completely free.
if you have Game Pass, the ENTIRE game is free, so to speak, so of course their gonna lock a good amount of premium customization content behind a paywall, I mean think about it, do they really have a choice?
it’s not like money is flowing into the company from the monstrous sales of their latest release!
I say, enjoy the free game and throw a few dollars their way now and then to get the look you want.
… seems fair.
honestly for me it still feels like i have to spend a bunch of money to really enjoy the game, being able to customize a cool looking spartan is part of that and they’re not letting have fun with it because of the rediculous prices they put on them. so it’s either pay full price and enjoy a whole game or have part of it free and the other part i have to pay stupid amounts of money for.
Exactly and that’s the problem @FeudalPhoenix10 . It’s been a major part of player expression since H3 and now you have to fork over money for basically anything and everything all of the time. If they’d made all the old armors base game free content then I’d be okay with them putting new armor into the pass and shop. It’s new not something we’ve seen since 3 or reach.
@TwelveOuncer Halo has always been a boxed package that you just paid full price for. If they would’ve kept it that way they would’ve made a hefty sum just from that. Also Microsoft is making tons of money from Gamepass and Gp Ultimate. Just paying for Ultimate for 4 months pays for 1 full price game. XBL gold was one full price game for a year. Nobody, absolutely nobody who has been playing Halo since before 5 wanted this series to go f2p. It was just an excuse to try and nickel and dime their community for as much money as possible. A decision that I’m fairly sure hasn’t given the returns they were looking for. Microsoft even said that Halo had underperformed well below projected numbers. They didn’t make the money from the people they were hoping to. So they tried to go in a direction to try and make more money, but just pissed off the long time fans even more just to make even less money. Congratulations 343 industries you ended up with both less money and less good will/trust from your community.
I didn’t ask for a free to play game, but I don’t expect 343i to completely change and overhaul this game to try and make it a box product at this point. We’re past a full year since launch and things haven’t really gotten better. They need to reduce prices on digital goods that are non-refundable, non-transferable and unlimited in supply. It doesn’t take that much more effort to make something shiny versus something that’s dull. It doesn’t take more time and effort to make something that is blue instead of something that is gray. There is no reason that a simple color set for armor which use to be built in the game for you to customize for free is now locked behind a paywall and costs you anywhere from $3 to $10 for the color blue. Something like that should never cost more than a dollar, an armor set should never cost more than $5 and nobody should have to pay for emblems or weapon charms.
Hopefully the next Halo game will have standards and not be a F2P microtransaction hell hole like we have now.
Well, you’re certainly not being forced.
Not saying it’s all good but-
As you just said here, things change.
lmao, look. Halo’s MTX are extremely inoffensive. You want bad? Go to like, any MMO.
I’ve been going for more than one full year without having touched Halo Infinite. Halo 5 just feels so satisfying to play, but I’ve become burned out on PvP multiplayer now.
same kinda, the only time i played infinite after the first week was the winter update release to try the match xp system, surprise surprise! it still sucks and everything else too. it’s virtually just a permanent challenge system, not like how i thought it would be.
Remember when Halo was made to respect the player’s time and effort and reward you accordingly? Kiss that goodbye. This game has zero respect for the effort we put into it. Instead we have that trash store thrown in our faces every day. We are drip fed the same recycled nonsense over and over and over again. The same maps for 2 freaken years…I was mad at the story of Halo 5, but at least that was a complete game.
I don’t play those for that reason. Just like how I dont play Infinite
I’m going to guess that too many people did NOT think it was a fair deal since they are apparently all but scrapping the game for whatever is coming next. Paying nearly a third of the cost of a brand new game for one armor set is where they lost me.
In my opinion they should have stayed with the traditional model. Let me pay $60-70 for the game and most of the customizations and then charge for things like the HCS skins or promotional items. There are multiple reasons I stopped playing this game after season 1, but this is one of the biggest.
