So many new members. So much raging

Where the hell is all the old classic forum members? We used to have such good logical discussions here, now they’ve all run away :frowning:

To all new “Recruit” rank members, Halo 4 is a video game. Halo 4 is a popular AAA billion dollar franchise. Microsoft/343 Owe nothing to you. The fact competitive Halo still even exists should be enough for you to be satisfied, atleast they’re still giving a slight nod towards your community.

What about Race track forgers?
What about Campaign Speed runners?
And many more sub communities.

Sorry to say this (Trying not to flamebait here) your “MLG” community is insignificant, it is a video game. You play for fun. Your fun is playing competitively. Competitive isn’t just Slayer Pro and Skill based ranking, I can play grifball just as “competitively” as you can play CTF, competitive is subjective.

You can be a competitive Halo player, or be stuck in the past “OHH the good Ol’ days of Halo 2 when me an mah buddy keith” blah blah blah.
New features and new additions should add to the competitive experience not take away from it. “Oh it’s not slayer pro, can’t be competitively played, meh wont play it, just for filthy casuals”
Try playing oddball or flood for once, perhaps they could finally become “MLG” standard if you actually gave it a try, and if you don’t like these new additions, these new gametypes and features, then you have 4 options.

 1. Realize that Halo isn’t your game to make and that new additions and added features can only be a good thing even if you prefer the “older versions”

 2. Adjust to new competitive settings, adapt your playstyle and try and keep the flow going

 3. Realize that it is a game and you’re making it a much bigger problem than it really is

 4. Realize that Halo is no longer fun to you, and move on to a new franchise and leave the people who want to have fun in peace.

RANT RANT RANT TL;DR YOU’RE POSTING FLAMEBAIT GET OFF THIS FORUM COSMIC

Best post I’ve read all day. 100% of it is true.

There too busy actually enjoying the game.

Right so because anyone that hasn’t been trolling around the forum must clearly not have been a part of Halo the last 10 years. Get off that high horse of yours.

And as for something being just a game, you seem to be getting pretty worked up over it. Just saying, maybe follow your own advice.

> There too busy actually enjoying the game.

And i would be too but I haven’t been able to play since Thursday, i’m back home tomorrow though! =D

You must always remember that the consumer controls the direction of a franchise or product.

Just like we saw with Halo: Reach and the statistically large population drops, if people genuinely dislike Halo 4, they’ll stop playing it.

You mention Halo being a AAA game franchise, but what makes you so certain that, no matter what the future holds, it will remain that way?

You’ve been on the Internet before, and you’re STILL surprised at the majority of its inhabitants?

Welcome to the jungle, my friend. It only gets worse from here on in XD

Did you not read the bottom line? K.

Not on any high horse, actually I prefer a good Ol’ El Senior (RDR Donkey) just stating a logical point that a flood of new members has led to mindless troll threads and annoying illogical complaints.

Okay

I used to be quite active on the Bungie forums…silly Waypoint. sigh

As strange as it sounds, This forum used to be a very tight knit community, everyone knew everyone before Halo 4 came out and we’d hardly have any troll or idiotic complaint threads (Not the illogical kind) but that’s changed since release.

Oh and I know what the internet’s like, I was an active member of -Yoink!- for a while, and my god i’m scarred for life.

Sweet.

You created an emotionally charged forum topic that’s already been done to death. Just a game bro.

Microsoft = $$$$$
Advertising costs = Null

Halo = Worldwide known game.

Unless Microsoft go bankrupt then Halo will always be a huge franchise, regardless of the quality.

Cough Apple cough

Heh, I guess we remember the Reach forums differently then.
DMR was STILL the topic of much rage back then, from day one. As was Armour lock (although that one actually had some merit IMO) among other things.

I guess I’m jaded with the internet. Before the demonic scumbag overlords at NCSoft decided to shut it down with next to no notice, I was a member of the City of Heroes game forums. I have, and likely never will, meet such a tight-knit community as I did there. And then the guys in charge killed the game because they wanted MOAR Korean grindfest MMOs…
There are no words. Only hatred…

But yeah. Teh Interwebz, eh? XD

Yep, soak it all in, while you can.

tl;dr regs don’t want new people on a forum that isn’t theirs, -Yoinking!- about a game in a forum that moderators are too swamped/not there to clean up.

I’m still creeping around here. I don’t really know if I count as a new or oldish member, though.

Seems like the op has some oap rose tinted glasses on today.

Every new halo game is marked by a flood of negative posts. Everyone hates everything and misses the thing that they complained about when the previous halo game was released. This is unfortunate but true…
