Never in ANY Halo game have I seen this many campers. Theres your usually single campers or quick corner campers. But Ive seen whole teams camp. Ive played with some campers and the mentality is “If we’re winning, CAMP! and if we’re losing, TRY CAMP!” I would like a fucken explanation on why theres such an uprise of campers. I will not allow people who are too fucken afraid to move up in a video game ruin the franchise I played since Halo: CE.
I “camp” on the map Harvest because the giant rocks on both bases have good viewing angles where I can spot noobs like you who have no concept of map control and run in the open ready to press x to respawn. Do you understand why I “camp” now?
Well, this seems to be just player-prefered behavior , and now, with de DMR thing… it seems that it has been made a viable tactic. As for the whole team camping, that is player preference for most part. And don’t lie, everyone here has camped at least once in their lives…
LOL > “. I will not allow people …” what will u do against it?
i understandu, but u must live with it or stopp playing. it makes no scense to play a game when i camp the whole time.
i snipe often, when i get the sniper, and then i camp also with camo, but thats my kind of strategie and style to play.
Of course people camp. The game map design, weapon style, loadout system and ordnance system encourage it.
Why bother leaving your cozy spot with your Precision Weapon when you can just as easily watch the map and pop people off, and then be rewarded for your hard work by being granted weapons and other boons? You can’t run around with a gun that you’d like, because someone with a DMR/BR/Carbine/Light Rifle not only outranges you, they can kill you quicker anyway.
The problem you find is a result of the Precision Meta that’s currently enveloped Halo. The game map styles are wide open, or have long corridors. Frankly, camping or just using a DMR to kill everything you have a problem with is just encouraged by the game developers anyway.
Kill times encourage it. I’m not saying people didn’t camp in previous games, but the faster the kill time, the more people camp. In my experience, people only camped with power weapons in Reach, the rest of the time they were running around like headless chicken. In this game, everybody is afraid to go out for fear of instant death. God forbid you get team shot, also. You’ll be down in .5 seconds.
It honestly depends on the gametype you play, but in general, ‘camping’ has increased with the new features the game brings.
On the other hand, I run around with my AR and SR and most of the time I don’t have trouble with campers because of the new amazing Hologram.
When my teammates and I team up by doing long-range support and close-range assault, we don’t have problems with campers. Maybe coordinate with your team a bit more?
Anyways, good luck in your future matches OP and I hope you don’t have any more troubles with those pesky campers. Have fun.
In Halo, isn’t it considered map control? In the earlier games, if someone was able to beat the other players/team into retrieving a power weapon, why would they charge in with it? If I took the Sniper Rifle on Lockout, I’m staying in the tower to overlook the map and call out enemy positions as they try to take back the tower, and possibly, the sniper.
Now I understand that there is a difference between camping and map control. Some people just crouch around corners and hope for a random target to come running by, but most people unfortunately get the two confused. I would sometimes get messages from people after dominating with a Sniper the entire match in a game of Big Team Slayer to stop camping and use “insert ideal weapon” here. By the way, that is putting it nicely. Such harsh terminology. Maybe I should go charge in with the Sniper next time. Who needs common sense?
Camping is rewarded in this game, that’s why. There is no need for positioning or coordinated pushes. Just cross map people until a power weapon is dropped in your lap. I died so much at first because I was trying to play this like it was a halo game.
