the br nerf i honestly couldn’t tell much difference but the nades i’m don’t like. plasmas seem less sticky too but i never seen any mention of them being changed. the melee lunge i couldn’t agree more on it is so f*cked when you get lunged from “ACROSS THE PLANET” then you lunge back and it’s less than a footstep and totally misses.

nerf melee lunge by 30%. its really hard to enter a room and not have someone automatically lunge at you.

The BR nerf is fine. It was the easiest gun to use with borderline aimbot levels of aim assist.

The melee lunge does drive me up the wall. The other day I was trying to bait a melee out of someone cuz I was down a shot and right as I got to just out of range I used thrusters to pull back, they meleed a split second after and their lunge pulled them through my thruster! It was a 8m lunge, longer than a sword’s!

how does the lunge actually work? i can never get it to work consistently - so is it random when it decides to screw you over? lol

it feels random. to me it’s like the server is trying to pick which point of view to honor and it seems that when a lunge appears to come from an extraordinarily long distance it has honored your attacker. on their pov you were within range. but yeh i kinda just avoid melee now as it’s not just the f’d lunge but lack of collision at times and a mess of other things that make it too frustrating to be bothered with.

There actually is enemy collision, despite popular believe. It’s just that the server is so confused with player locations that any fast pace action results in phasing. Surprising how broke the servers are; I don’t recall the issues Infinite suffers with being even hardly noticeable in the previous games.

Plasmas seem ridiculously sticky now, I had a recording of a 90 degree turn once before the update now it’s every game.

No-collision with teammates has also caused me too many Self Destructs and general blocked shots.

Yeah, that crap is super annoying.

Doesn’t help that you don’t even have to be looking at the enemy to get a lunge. I was in forge with a buddy and I was able to get a lunge nearly 60˚ off target.

Like what’s the point of that?

The nades nerf os a step into right direction. Spike nade could use a buff now, so all nades would be pretty equal.

The absolute must in order for the game to be any decent fun is the base assault rifle not to suck so damn hard, the bullet spread gets way too big and you simply miss most of the shots bo matter how good your aim is. Not to mention you have not much to say against PC players running with pistols 24/7 since 343 is too stupid to disable crossplay (and get rid of desync along with it).

This is one of the biggest issues with the balance of the game, it’s an arena shooter so you are forcing people to stick with one same gun for over 90% of their play time, and then you make that gun one of the most useless weapons in the game, the ordinary pistol outguns the AR on anything above 5-7m distance, that’s just so wrong.

So 343 can nerf all the things in the game while leaving AR as it is, and the end result is that getting a single kill is getting tiresome, dare I say frustrating.

That sounds like desync. You have to get REAL close to get a lunge in Infinite. It’s noticably smaller than H5’s.

Interesting, you are the only one I’ve seen that claims the AR is weak. The community seems pretty split that it is either perfect or has slightly too much range.

I think crossplay and desync are two separate issues. Why would disabling crossplay cure desync?

I accept that the server may have seen me within melee range. What is frustrating is that the lunge totally nullified the thrust.

Thank the lord for both. Melee does need a nerf too. Always had been a crutch for so many.

Ya’ll getting melee kills? I’m jealous, I keep swinging at people right in front of my face and still miss.

IMO I also think the BR nerf was also unnecessary. There were so many other things that needed to be fixed, the BR was fine. Now I can shoot someone 3 in the chest and 1 in the head…oh wait…1 more in the head…oh wait…1 more in the head…oh I just lost the duel. I check the replay frame by frame and my reticle is on the guys head. It shouldn’t feel like a “reward” to get a perfect with the BR, or even a headshot. This is 343i listening to an extremely minor base instead of, again, actually fixing what needs to be fixed.
I know, I know. “So what then needs to be fixed?”
Pretty much everything else? I mean, I agree with the frag change, because their delay was pretty much nothing (felt that way).
But losing BR duels because my bullets decide to RNG around the guys head while my reticle is on his face…Bungie changed this to straight bullets back in 2005…and it was for a reason.
The Winter Update is nice, but the BR nerf was just stupid. Again, IMO.

Lol nothing will ever be easier to use than Halo Infinites all powerful AR, that joke of an overpowered beast negates over half of this games weapon sandbox.
