They are playing the beta of the beta. They don’t get all of the things that we will get when we have access to it. We will have more maps, more modes, and more time with it. it.
I doubt they even planned for this. I think this is to make sure the beta doesn’t suffer the same issues as the MCC multiplayer does. It might even be Microsoft who forced them to do this.
This isn’t even a beta. It’s barebones stuff and I think it’s an even earlier build than what we’ll get to play later. Also, it only lasts until sunday

I agree. I would rather be there myself, but it’s hard to complain about them doing a sample test to make sure that we won’t have any issues. I would even be happy with just going through the menu, checking stuff.

I think you make a good point, but I don’t agree with advertising halo 5 beta access but failing to mention that certain people will get earlier access. That’s bad marketing, and in my opinion that’s not cool, and yeah Im sorry if it’s a -Yoink- move becaus it’s only ten days away. But I’m a little bummed out by it, because it’s the principle of it all. Taking into consideration like you said, how broken the MCC collection was on release. It just feels a bit like adding insult to injury y’know? give it everyone, what difference does it make to them? They owe us that much right?

Yeah, but if I remember correctly isn’t the early access for the Xbox Dashboard Preview Program?

Some have gotten into the beta by invitation from 343 or something like that.
I’m in the preview program and to be honest there is nothing to be jealous over. There are controller options, two maps to play slayer on, and a button that takes you to the halo channel and that’s it. There aren’t even rockets on the maps. Only a sniper rifle, in a map with no sight lines and the sword on midship. The only mode is Slayer 4v4 and you can’t back out of matchmaking unless you quit the whole game. The textures are also bummed way down. This small beta of the beta ends Sunday and is literally a glitch and bug test. The beta everyone gets on the 29th will be much more feature fleshed out and halo is a lot mor fun with friends. Honestly just be patient, it will pay off. Plus once the big beta starts everyone is gonna be complaining that it isn’t halo 2. Why do you think they announced all the free stuff today? To drown out any complaints from those who have access to the beta now and to get you in a good mood for halo 5. The gameplay is fun and at the same time weird because it is so specifically halo. Features like clamber are welcome from titanfall but no double jump makes it a little strange. Using smart scope on pistol and auto rifle removes bloom but requires more accuracy. Sorry if I’m feeding your fire, but dashboard preview program people had no idea this was coming. We give a lot of feedback and jeopardize a lot by putting our entire console on beta software, it’s not just all fun and games, you have to do a lot of work.

You’re right to feel that way… I can relate- they messed this one up pretty bad in my opinion… Early access to the November MCC players could’ve and most definitely should’ve been a part of the compensation. It wouldn’t have been hard either…

If you bought a full priced retail game just so that you can play the halo 5 beta for a couple of weeks, then you got what you deserved.
Besides, the pre-beta beta is going to end on Sunday night and only has two maps and one game mode. It also is either running on P2P or only has servers in the US as I am in Australia and every match is full of American accents. So the connection turns my weapons into water pistols.
You’re really not missing out on anything right now.
Also, how many of the people complaining about this were quite happy to take the added bonus of early access to all of the specializations on Halo 4 just because they played the game at least once within the first month? I bought the Halo 4 collectors edition and one of the “exclusive” features was to have access to all of the specializations at launch. A week after launch, they announced that everybody would get it.
Nowhere in the marketing for the MCC did it say anything about “exclusive” access to the beta. If it did you might have a legitimate reason to complain, but since it didn’t, they are free to allow as many early beta’s as they like.

This isn’t the compensation, free ODST, Halo 2A Relic remake and one month of free gold is the compensation. This early access is a test so the Beta won’t crash and burn like MCC did.
Don’t be too disheartened. The users currently playing the Halo 5 Guardians beta are either press, Major Nelson, professional gamers, YouTube celebrities, etc. It’s no big deal to me.
