So joining in-game is in the game!

Nice, Just saw a youtube video someone joined in the game! i hate playing 4v1!

What do you think about joining in-game?

I like it so far, I just hope it takes skill rating into account or something of that sort.

Not bothered by it, unless someone joins and causes a lot of lag due to his connection.

I don’t think that it’s for every playlist. Anybody know?

This^^

It will most likely only be for the social part, Ranked matches with join mid games will not work properly with a trueskill system at the same time.

What happens if someone gets betrayal booted i wonder? I’m guessing they cant rejoin?

I hope it’s not in all playlists, and I hope there’re some boundaries that keep players from joining games that’re nearly finished.

Hopefully this means there will be well-defined social and ranked categories. Best part of H3’s ranking system in my opinion.

Come home from work, crack open a beer, play halo. Several beers later and my playing starts to suffer, switch to social so my rank isn’t adversley effected.

That is one awesome routine.

Actually, this feature can be really useful during gametype/map selection. I can’t remember how many times teammates would quit out because it wasn’t what they wanted.

For the match part, understandable. For the set-up, keep it. Best to keep the lobbies filled during that time so the matches stay as even as possible.

This was confirmed almost a year ago.

I just hope there won’t be a blackscreen every time it happens.

I don’t like Join in progress, I feel like it will encourage more quiting. And I hate joining games that have already started.

Honestly it just feels like one of those things put in to satisfy the casual and newcomer audience, rather than improve the game.

As long as there isn’t any connection problems attached to it, it will be a great addition!

I hope you can turn it off. I don’t want to be joining games that we’re about to lose or games that the other team has total control.

I like it, but only reason i could learn to hate it is that it might increase the amount of quiting. For example, one guy join a game from the start and is like “Man this game is -Yoink- i am gonna quit”, and so on. Then the next person joins and says the same.

Other than that i like it, as said above.

Link?

Employing this feature to appeal to newcomer audiences is like sending troops to war without training them. It would be really overwhelming for a new person to be thrown into the middle of a match without being able to really figure out what exactly to do.

As far as casuals go, meh. I really don’t think this has to be another casuals vs. competitive issue. They implemented it because people quit games all the time, leaving the teams uneven. I have played games in Halo where my entire team left, and I still won, but it’s frustrating nonetheless.

I play a lot of PC games, so maybe I’m just accustomed to such an old feature. But I don’t feel it harms anything.

It’s how I learned to play CoD the first time I ever played it. Since it’s not on all playlists hopefully those prone to quitting will stick to the ones that have J-i-P.
