So, it's been confirmed...

It’s been confirmed that there aren’t going to be any “perks” in Halo 4.
So… Why are people still moaning and itching about it?
I still see threads going “OMGZursZ OBvusYL LUYK Cahl uv DOOD, AMIRAITE?”.
This is… Eugh.

Seriously though. I want to know: Why are people getting worked up over a non-existent feature?

*Will include linked source, once I find the post on NeoGaf.

There was a thread about this somewhere.

I calmed down once i read Frankie’s quote, i assume most people would of seen it by now as the perk threads have died down.

It’s an odd predicament. The Media apparently worded it wrong to get attention, Frankie said he never said Perk but there is something like it, but not in the sense as we know it like in current games, and AGGHHHH !!!

CLARIFICATION NEEDED!!!

If I remember correctly, 343’s only said that the name of these perk-like abilities will not be the “perks” as we popularly know them to be (CoD, mainly). The perk-like abilities, I don’t think, have been confirmed as fake. So it’s safe to say that these abilities will be perks in all but name.

Thank god…

We just don’t know enough about it yet. Frankie said there WILL be new things that are going to be fairly controversial, but he has strayed away from the use of the word “perk”. Rightfully so, because many fans (myself included) are used to such a word being coupled with imbalance.

Put simply: We need to wait for more information before we can determine whether any of this is good or bad for gameplay.

Ahh shucks, and here I was hoping for ghost pro. Oh well…

I want a 343i’s employee explain me, why Sprint is needed on Halo 4? because if I understand Halo CE and Halo 2 worked great with increased movement speeds.

If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

They’re not called “perks”, but they serve the same role. Reach’s “cR” isn’t “XP”, but it’s the same thing in a different blanket. I don’t have a gripe with the word perk, but I do have a gripe with what its implications are, and they don’t change just because it’s called something else.
