It looks like after 343’s supposed “Sunset” of the forums, general discussion and community are still open. What on Earth was the purpose of this?! I could be jumping to conclusions here since the rest has been locked for about 10 minutes, but so far it looks like General Discussion is still open.

Don’t get your hopes up.
I think it may be a slow sunsetting process whereby they’re doing various things manually to shut it down. I’d imagine in a couple hours it’ll all be locked up.

Pretty sure I couldn’t post a few hours ago.
The Infinite forum still seems to be going as well. Who knows what it means but I’m not inclined to read much into it. We will get cut off soon.
I’m afraid it isn’t possible to post or make topics in the Infinite section. Strangely, General Discussion is all that is left.

That’s odd. Most forums I checked don’t have post/reply buttons. The Infinite forum still does but I get an error when I actual try post something.
I double checked, and it seems the different categories just have a faded out ‘New Topic’ button. No actual reply button within posts that I could find. Very strange.
Well, I guess for however long it lasts, General Discussion just got promoted to All Discussion, haha!

Did anybody else get a code for a shroud pin earlier? I nearly bought it then realised the postage cost more than the pin itself if I wanted to get it to the U.K.

I did see something about some pins on the Infinite news feed on the Home Screen. I think there is going to be 3 of them but you have to complete certain events to be eligible. I certainly won’t be buying them as I imagine the postage to Australia would be similarly expensive.
I can’t claim I was here from the start. I’m only a relatively recent forum member but I’ve have been playing Halo since CE released on the original Xbox, so the franchise has been part of my life for a long time.
Oh three pins hmmm not sure that’s worth the price of a game. See what happens.
Yeah me too although I joined the bnet forum back in 2005/6 and then came here when 343 took the reigns…

I think they would be purchased separately so this would only be for the first pin.
Sad that this is getting shut down. Gonna miss Halo. Feels like forums closing is symbolic

To clarify what @SQUiB_2154 has already said, the pins are part of some new thing called Halo Gear Rewards, where you get “rewarded” by “earning the right to purchase” certain items after completing milestones in Halo Infinite.
Last year, players who completed the Fracture Entrenched event “earned” the ability to buy a Fracture themed jacket…for around 125$ !
I don’t think it’ll catch on, if I’m being honest.

Yeah 15 dollars each and then another 15 for postage.
The challenge was to complete last weeks event. If it was something challenging I might contemplate buying a pin. Better than a digital trophy.
