so it looks like sprint is going to be a default ability

In the video where you see parts of spartans sprinting there is no meter shown for indication of armor abilities. If it’s true I am happy about this change but what are your thoughts?

I’m happy, no more speed-walking to weapons.

It is also the alpha build, which is subject to change and is, obviously, not a finished product.

Jumping to ANY sort of conclusion based on this trailer alone is a bit pointless but at least it LOOKS good so far. We’ll see how things are down the road, though.

Personally I like the idea. I’ve always thought it was strange that to sprint in Reach you had to have an armor ability, like Spartans couldn’t do it otherwise. Built in sprint seems like a logical step, though I must admit I wonder how it will change the game style if everyone can sprint as well jetpack as well as evade etc etc.

It seems logical for a Spartan to be able to sprint anytime he or she wishes, yes, but gameplay is more important than any canonical reference could ever be. I mean, if gameplay took a backseat then we might as well just go watch movies instead of being gamers. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I’m fine with it, if the two maps we saw are any indication of the size of the other maps in the game. From the brief footage we saw, it seemed like it would be a useful ability but definitely not a game-breaking method of traversal.

I’d be happy with it being a default ability. I hope that’s the case.

Very true, but it’s still fun to speculate off the little bits of information we receive.

Yep you’re absolutely right. I have mixed feelings about all of this Halo 4 stuff to be honest. I’m more concerned by the art style than things like AAs or gameplay though.

I can see my gameplay now…sprint and jump to jetpacking.

I like this as I’m great with sprint and jetpack, putting that together with normal Spartan movements is going to be gooood indeed.

I hope sprint is something along the lines of an overshield, or active camo. If abilities make a comeback for Halo 4. I want to have to fight for them. None of this COD crap where you start with it. Halo has always been about fighting for the advantage.
