Almost 4 months has it been since I last logged on here and looked at the forums. When I left it in January the Halo community was ready to rip itself apart over certain Halo 5 gameplay changes and tweaks. 4 months later it still seems that the Halo community is ready to rip itself to shreds over these same changes.
Is it just me or are we the worst community in the world?

Not the worst, just passionate. Halo is more than just a simple game, it’s something special to all of us for different reasons.
And have you not been around for a long time. People have been saying “This is the end of Halo” since Halo 3 came out.
Eh, things seem to have toned down to me. In any case, commenting on it sure isn’t changing anything. And no, we are definitely not the worst community in the world.

counter strike global offensive, the AUG and the other one, you aim you see nothing, just like in halo
now, you aim with the AUG you see the scope and with a dot in it, its cosmetic its still the same thing
no one complained
343 did it with the BR, same thing valve did, boom everyone’s complaining
just for something that is COSMETIC

I remember when CSGO came out, people still -Yoinked!- about everything.
No, it was much crazier around the results of 343’s beta poll. The occasional thread pops up, but having some negative thread’s isn’t really a bad thing.

Oh no unfortunately when great games like the OT came out I was a play station kid and also weren’t into shooters. Just got into Shooters 4 years ago and instantly fell in love with Halo.
Ya even if 343 remove sprint and abilities and make a carbon copy of halo 2 people still -Yoink-. Its pointless it makes me sick that halo is failing and COD is still on top. Population went downhill after reach and people will never forgive halo now. Now FPS are addicted to COD. Im hoping halo 5 changes that. I’ve been playing Halo since CE when I was 9 and I’ve never played a more addicting FPS.

Makes me wonder if there is a good gaming community.
The cod community is non-existent. Its not even an actual game as everything earned is provided to you.

Here’s my analysis: It’s come to my attention that recently, everyone that defends Halo 5 is not making threads detailing why Halo 5 is superior to previous installments. Why not? Because instead, they are busy opening entirely new threads solely to chastise everyone for criticizing Halo 5 in January, and the bunch who HELPED (yes helped, not slowed down) Halo 5’s development by being raw and uncensored critics, clearly aren’t even here anymore.
Could it perhaps be that they aren’t the ‘bad’ side of the community that everyone is talking about?

By no means do I think we are the worst or even a bad community (try LoL or DotA). But I feel the Halo community in general are comparable to heroin addicts. They all want that feeling they got from whatever the ‘first’ Halo was that they played. All these addicts are chasing that original high from 14 years ago and they want that EXACT same feeling, so adding sprint, clamber, ground n pound, thrusters, etc. is making everyone feel like it’s not the sprintless, slow type gameplay that originally got hooked. I’m tired of listening to people compare the H5 beta to CoD - when Halo becomes a ‘whoever sees who first wins’ type of game - compare it to CoD… but just because spartans can -Yoinking!- run faster than they could 14 years ago doesn’t mean it’s CoD.
In all reality the game needs to evolve, if 343 or Bungie shoveled the same -Yoink- down our throats for 5+ years without evolution, Halo wouldn’t be what is has been and still is. Yes the H5 beta needs tweaking, but it’s a BETA that is what is for…
Halo is still a great (imo the best) game/series. But you are never going to have that same feeling you had when you played ‘your first’ Halo. Nobody ever does with a sequel.

Well… I haven’t seen a Sprint thread in months. That’s got to count for something.
I remember the Bungie.Net days during halo 3 with people crying that halo 3 was different the 2 and they should’ve added sprint. then they added sprint on reach and people lost it with that

The only good community I’ve ever managed to find has been the Monster Hunter Community, which is pretty small. Honestly, that’s probably why. Get too big, and it all goes wrong.

Most RPG communities are rather tame as well. Same goes for TLoU.

Dude they said halo 2 was the death of the franchise there was an whole website about how bad Halo 2 was… and now the same people say its the model we should base all future games off.

I have seen quite a lot of aggressive TLoU fans, but I can believe RPGs.
