Master Chief has gone rogue, he has to have gone rouge, the VISOR is cracked, his armor is messed up and it has finally been confirmed that he went into hiding. I’m not sure but was that a War Sphinx at the end it fits the description pretty well.
you really can’t support any of that other than the visor and armor.

If Frank O Connor is saying he is in hiding then he has to be rogue there is no way the UNSC would just let him go like that it makes no sense.
And we don’t exactly know what it is but it fits the description of a War Sphinx and isn’t a Seeker a newer War Sphinx.

It doesn’t fit the description at all. A War Sphinx is 10 meters tall and 20 meters long.

Apparently War Sphinxs can merge together to make a bigger unit.

Unless he went rogue to search for something that would bring Cortana back… without permission. The UNSC may not be too keen on him doing that. The more you think about it, the more it makes sense. It was kinda hinted at in H4 judging by his actions on the deck of the infinity when they tried to decommission Cortana.

I guess, but it just doesn’t sit well with me. Maybe 343 can pull it off (they sure convinced me that a new trilogy in general could work).
when did frankie said he was hiding? I say a neogaf post saying he was covering up his armor and trying to conceal himself. That doesn’t instantly mean he is hiding from the UNSC which we saw no trace of.
And a Seeker is/was the newer version of a sphinx this was outright stated in cryptum.

I’m not saying that he has or hasn’t, just that it’s entirely plausible. Judging by he reaction on the Infinity, it could be that the loss has had a profound and deep impact on him. It could be part of humanizing him more, and showing that side. Or, maybe he was on vacation and on his way to the beach.

The Chief fights for something more than just the nation of the UNSC, he fights to defend humanity as a whole. If those two clash, he will choose humanity. It adds to his individuality.

Is it really that hard of a concept to see a Rogue Spartan. In the story dirt we had Rouge ODST. In Mona Lisa we had Rouge ONI agents. Master Chief was debriefed his armor is cracked if he was really still with the UNSC he wouldn’t need to hid or try to conceal himself. His armor is damaged you can see it in the visor. He has no visible weapons either.

The concept of a rouge spartan has been established with GRAY TEAM and Soren it is what you are saying that doesn’t make sense.

A crack in the visor does not mean anything other than a crack. My welding helmet looks very similar to that and a crack on the outside doesn’t affect anything on the inside. Visors are generally very thick or have layers so this doesn’t affect performance. Just like how emile has a massive carving on his visor yet it doesn’t seem to inhibit him.

It would be interesting. If He does, it would kinda explain the Cloak.

If you want to get technical, for years now we seen Master Chief without a cloak, why would he all of a sudden need a cloak after his debriefing? It would make sense that he in fact has gone rouge he is supposed to be exploring himself to begin with. How could he be this far out with no support and don’t you think after almost 5 years the UNSC would update his armor like Naomis or the other Spartan IVs?
MAYBE HALSEY IS MAKING HIDE FROM THEM!!! But then He would Have to be working for Jul, and I don’t think he’s gonna do that. Maybe His soul mission is get cortana back.
