So is this edition of Halo the worst...

to solo queue?

I know, it’s a team game, party up etc etc…

That aside, some spartans like to solo queue and I’m interested in peoples thoughts on what it’s like to be a lone wolf in Halo 5?

Personally, It seems like I run in to 3+ parties in this game more than any other - it also annoys me how it’s not immediately obvious when the opposing team is partied up… another underhand tactic by 343.

I never understood the importance of forcing team centered gameplay on the population but its seems to have taken over the current Halo community. Apparently if you aren’t manning at least six people you will have a tougher time playing against stacked competition. To be honest, 343i dropped the ball, really really bad when they decided to change the landscape of the entire Halo series with these as-deep-as--Yoink!--sauce fire team Osiris and Blue Team. I guess someone at the studio took a course in team building and figured what’s good for one person works for everyone (the mantra of this company). Don’t get me wrong, I love some team battles, but having 6-12 men on a fire team seems like the only “enjoyable” way of playing Warzone. Word up.

I almost always play alone and I think it’s fine

I think you hit the nail on head right there, it’s the way in which 343 force their agenda on the population.

Playing in a party is fun sometimes, but it shouldn’t be a necessity to enjoy playlists other than FFA, which btw doesn’t have a sufficient popluation to support it anyway.

A mercenary type play list - if only as a limited time event on rotation would be nice. @FOXHOUNDUNIT

Good for you man,

I just find it incredibly frustrating the amount of team stomping.

Outside of FFA?

Yah I almost never play FFA.

Yeah it can be annoying when you get matched with two silvers against two diamonds and an onyx. I mostly play Warzone though so it isn’t really a problem.

I think it is certainly the worst in Halo 5, especially Team Skirmish (I tend to go against a lot of teams of 3/4 in this “social” playlist). Obviously the population is a problem but I think a big problem that we haven’t had before is no split screen (so therefore no guests can play like back in the H3 days). That truly made social what it was and ranked what it was. You wanted to put up your best against another team, go into ranked. You want to just have fun or maybe have a “warm up” game before going into ranked? Play social. In Halo 5, there really is no distinction between the two besides you don’t gain/lose a rank in one but its just as super competitive (usually against to3, etc.) when searching solo. Even in BTB, there seems to be full teams who just go in to farm kills (and ignore OBJ if its CTF, Strongholds, etc.). I still try to have fun but I find myself taking breaks from the game when it gets too frustrating.
