I don’t know about you guys, but I used to love infection in halo 3 because of all the chill variants people came up with, like fat kid, jenga, ice cream man, driving around sand trap in a warthog with 300% speed zombies chasing you with grav hammers; the list goes on and on. I was disappointed in halo: reach because there wasn’t that custom game community that I liked more than matchmaking in halo 3. I just liked it because it was more fun. I didn’t really care about ranks and stuff.
So I was wondering if that this new “flood” mode will support all the variation that you could do with the old infection? Can I still tweak the zombie traits and give them different weapons? Do they have to have the screen effect and the armor effect? I totally support the Flood thing for matchmaking. I just wonder these things because when they say that Flood is the spiritual “successor” for infection, does that mean the old infection is gone? Will those simpler times of Halo 3 be gone for ever? Just wondering.
I won’t miss it at all, remember you can create your own gametypes at forge, and fat kid still will be there, if forge is up. Just that will be fat flood.
I miss it… I don’t know if some of you guys every experienced the thrill of fighting through barriers while hordes of zombies rushed to kill you in Omega Journey. Just… the thrills guys! The thrills. I miss the thrills.
I don’t know if you can change the Flood’s weapon from the Sword, but you can definitely customize the gametype. Humans and Flood have separate traits which allows you to change what AAs and player traits they have available to them.

Lol I love how you actually did. Good reaction too. I strongly suspected that flood mode was customizable, I just wanted the oh so knowlegeable community to give some proof with your well-cited article quotes and logical explanations.
They better not be gone! The main reason i was addicted to halo 3 was because of fat kid, omega journey, jenga, trash comapctor etc That stuff was AMAZINGLY FUN

Personally, I don’t care either way for infection. I never really enjoyed those gametypes in H3, and infection in Reach was only fun because I could mess around with evade.
> Is there a source for where full infection customization is confirmed? I.e the claws can be ditched, and things like Speed Halo can still be made?
From the last Halo bulletin: “Flood features an exclusive set of medals that can only be earned by playing this particular game mode, and it also has its own set of custom game options. The former is detailed below.” It doesn’t go into detail but its confirmed at least.
