From most of the gameplay videos I’ve seen, it appears to be similar to Halo 3. Only in the IGN video did the base movement speed appear to be slower. What’s up with that? Which is the actual speed? I’m very confused…
Faster than Halo 3 confirmed by 343. Stop worrying about stupid stuff.

They didn’t say faster than Halo 3. I’m sure they said faster than Reach and around that of 3.
Take note that the IGN team used a video that was a video camera recording a television screen which sometimes gives the illusion of slower feel due to poor quality from angle and motion blur and what not.
I’ll admit, it does appear slow to me, only in the IGN videos.
I don’t think 343 would blatantly lie about a movement speed. That’s a measurable number. It’s not something they can fudge. Complain all you like about them saying something “feels” like Halo if you don’t think it does, but statistical falsehood isn’t something they’d likely practice.

I don’t think they’ed lie either. There’s something different about this gameplay though. The movement is slower than the rest of the videos they’ve been showing us. Maybe it’s just IGN’s camera, but it still looks slower imo.
Something is definitely up with the movement speed. In previous footage, the movement speed looked much improved. The videos from IGN look sort of clunky and Reach-like. I hope it’s a result of the constant sprinting (that we all get to look forward to in Halo 4) and the camera.
The jump height and the jump physics looked like Reach as well. IDK, though because every other video has not looked like that.
Hm, it could be that the custom settings IGN is using were made to be more Reach-like? I don’t remember seeing the movement speed being that slow in other videos.
