No, but he and most other things to come out of Halo 5 have probably been banished to the EU realm for the foreseeable future.
If 343 loves anything its completely dropping major plot threads and characters and resolving them off screen.

I was a big fan of Locke, even though his portrays in Halo 5 was somewhat wooden and lacking. The promise of a strong, stoic, and calculating protagonist was a welcome addition, albeit a rough presentation. So the fact that heās still out there, as told through an audio log, somewhere, fighting the good fight gives me hope that we may see him in the future, possibly im a future DLC. I have hope that hes slated for another game appearance based on a a Halo wikia excerpt that states that Mike Colter- the model actor for Locke.
If you guys want to know what happened to Locke:

Is this a spoiler for infinite?
I mean it is supposedly cut dialogue but appears with the IWHBYD skull - potentially, maybe not.
It doesnāt really spoil anything other people have spoken about already.
You know, Iād take anything that the propaganda Grunt says with a grain of salt.
man I never got this. all of the halo games have dark undertones with the exception of maybe CE. the flood are enough to make that clear. reach just put it up front and center. armor abilites and loadouts didnt ruin halo either, they made for some of the best custom games the series has ever had.
I never got the hate for armor lock either. it doesnt last forever, and its super easy to just time a grenade and rip them apart when it ends.
"Bungie, all on their own, introduced loadouts like armor lock, which went a long way toward ruining multiplayer. People complain a lot about 343 and seem to forget that Bungie had a hand in sending the franchise down a path that ruined it for years.ā
This right here⦠This is what Halo āBungie-Trash on 343 Fansā never want to mention, Cause they know Bungie would of out right killed Halo if they continued to renew there Contract with Microsoft / Halo TM.
You know there are players who still post on BungieDOTcom in regards to Halo, Like Bungie still holds the rights to it⦠SMH, So sad and pathetic.
There is a Grunt talking about his helmet being used as arm decoration though, it comes through one of those mini towers that you have to blow up.
I for sure speculating here but I was thinking that it would be really sick of 343i if down the road we get some side story DLC about Spartan Locke and some other characters. It would be a great opportunity to learn more about the Hand of Atriox and right their wrongs in terms of story telling from H5 for Spartan Locke. Spartan Locke isnāt a bad character IMO, they just needed to execute a narrative better with him and have more character development. It would be a good opportunity for some one lese to shine with out interfering with Master Chief.
Speak for yourself. I disliked him because he had the character depth of a water stain on your furniture⦠You know, like when you forget to use a coaster and some water drips down the side of the cup and gets on the table⦠And then dries? Thatās why.
I loved playing as arbiter in H2 (and so did many others).
Iām not done campaign yet but hopefully he is removedā¦
I agree with that.
Iām on the fence with this one. His scanner was good for finding intel though.
For me, Master Chief is Halo. He edged out Luke Skywalker by a smidgen, in my hero list.
HERO LIST -
Thanks for pointing this out- I did hear this tidbit since making my prior post and it certainly lends some credence to the idea that Locke was KIA. That said, although his helmet is āconfirmedā as having been separated from him (unreliable narrator of the Grunt being taken into account), his actual status is still a mystery.
Even given Lockeās poor reception with so many Halo fans, I would be a bit surprised if they killed him off in such an invisible way considering just how important he was in H5 and how heās always had another (albeit much smaller or less vocal) contingent of fans whoāve defended his character and have wanted to see more from him.
Iād still personally consider his fate a mystery at this point. Either way, hopefully 343i does address a lot of the vagueries from Infiniteās campaign in one of the earlier story expansions. I donāt see a benefit in leaving very many of these questions unanswered for too long.
Imagine that. Spartan Locke dead after 343i put so much into his character. He even got a mini-series released right before Halo 5. Heās the main character in Halo 5.
Just to kill him off screen. Lol
Wow, great, thanks for the spoiler title. Seriously??
The title is speculative, it doesnāt spoil anything.
yes and good riddance.
Bungie was actively seeking to get away from Halo. They never would have made Halo 3, ODST and Reach if they werenāt contractually obligated to do so. And we can all see that theyāre not really much better than 343 in the way that theyāve handled Destiny.
Still, their Halo games were definitely much better than Halo 4 and 5 in most respects. Infinite is incomplete but it is much closer to the original games than the previous two.
Locke is alive. Thereās a new Mega Construx figure of him without his Hunter class armor and the description reads āDesigned as he appears in Halo Infinite, this Agent Locke micro action figure is equipped for battleā.
The rifle heās holding in the figure looks like a DMR so its looks like the Halo: The Endless expansion is bringing back Locke and the DMR.
Itās neat that 343i reveals new content via ugly knock-off LEGO models. Their marketing and brand management is truly elegant.
