so is Chief still a human?

seeing as his genetics were advanced, his evolution was advanced… i dont remember much from halo 4

He is still human, the Librarian did alter his genes in some way not known to us at this point in time if I am correct.

Yes. Even the devolved humans were considered humans I believe.

> seeing as his genetics were advanced, his evolution was advanced… i dont remember much from halo 4

Yes, like you said his evolution was just advanced by activating dormant genes he already had in his body.

Nope, he’s slowly becoming a panda.

He is actually going to start showing more of a “human” side of him in this next game or ten.

Do you think it hurt Chief’s feelings when Grunts would call him a “bad cyborg”? I mean, it’s gotta hurt, but they are just Grunts.

His genes have been altered, he’s the next step in humanity’s evolution. Chief has become a mutant and he’s going to join the X-men.

The xmen could use some help. There biggest weapon is a guy made of metal fighting a guy who controls said metal.

“I’d like to talk to you about the Avengers initiative”

He is still human, though I’d be very surprised if ONI haven’t tried to experiment on Chief to find out what the Librarian actually did to him

Add to that though the previous augmentations. He may have started out human but he’s getting less and less comparable in just about every respect besides body plan. At some point the question “is he really the same species” does come into question and it would be very interesting if the next game tried to address that, or even used it as the basis for John’s Halo 5 character arc.

Let’s say that he is human, but a different type of human.

It be awesome if we start seeing the chief pull stunts that are above Spartan II level. Physical stronger, faster, faster reaction time, etc. Essentially becoming a warrior servant lite or ancient humanity strong.

> Do you think it hurt Chief’s feelings when Grunts would call him a “bad cyborg”? I mean, it’s gotta hurt, but they are just Grunts.

Who cares, just shoot those methane breathing midgets in the face, then we’ll see who the “bad cyborg” is then!

This.

I want it to show that Spartan-IIs augmentations are better in some way than the S-IVs as it is, and with the genetic evolution more so.

> Nope, he’s slowly becoming a panda.

An Ancient Panda… With the GEA of a goat… lol

But seriously John-117 is still Human by nature and physical form, DNA questionable? Definitely questionable…

I personally believe he lost his humanity when he became a Spartan. If anything, he’s more a Spartan and less a Human than he ever was before. In part this is supported by Halsey’s mocking of the Spartan IVs, she believes a mere human with some form of augmentation, and her Spartans are a completely different tier of species. I’m inclined to agree with her, an S-IV is a human with performance enhancing drugs. An S-II is something different altogether.
