As most of you know, there is a 400 page long forum about Elites that was made in 2012 and still in living, up to date. It is the largest thread ever made in Halo Waypoint. If you have seen the new beta menu images, you will notice something called Spartan Hub. As you can obviously tell, this implies that Elites will not be present during the beta and possibly the final version. Other thing that most people hate is the announcer’s voice from Halo 4, Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer, and Halo 5. Many have complained about this and has not even been changed nor has 343 shown any sign of change in this matter. Yes, they have listened and changed some things that affected gameplay (which is good) but why are they stubborn with the announcer, spartan simulation, and canon multiplayer? Before you claim that I don’t like change, you are very wrong. I accept the new changes (Spartan Abilities), but not the same mistakes (announcer, canon multiplayer, lack of Elites, etc).
I would rather they focus on the spartans instead of the elites. There are balancing issues with the elites such as them being easier to headshot compared to a spartan and if they added elites then a whole new set of animations for multiplayer would have to be made and tested. All of that takes time away from getting other more important things fixed and balanced.
I agree somewhat on the announcer guy though. He needs to be toned down a little bit as there is way to many things being called out by him now. Things may change though. We still about a year away from this games official release and a lot can change between now and then. I just want them to take their time and make sure it is done right.

Well, I’m glad someone understands. It just feels like a smack to the face to the Elite fans. I understand if Elites get delayed until launch, but naming things like Spartan Hub, Spartan Ranks, etc. Is a little too much.
Honestly as much as people want it, I do not see elites being used in Halo 5

That would require waaaayyy too much time. And in all honesty, elites were just a minor annoyance.
While I prefer reach’s approach and having them be intentionally different for certain modes, I wish 343 would be open and clear about it’s decision on this matter is.
I’d rather them stay out. Being an elite provides an unfair advantage as they are incredibly hard to headshot from behind thanks to them hunching over. There was a reason why everyone would play as an elite in SWAT in past games.
There’s one side asking for Elites. There’s another side screaming for balanced, Arena gameplay. They have to go for the balanced. They could create Elite playlists with Elite v Elite combat, but that would split up the community.

The community has been split for a long time, you know. Competitive, casual, game changer haters, people who want change, Spartans, Elites, etc. You can’t really split it at this point even more.

tell me about it
Halo 5 multiplayer is about “realising the spartan” everything about the gameplay is tied into a Spartans armour; so having elites unless can fit into or have Spartan armour made for it are not going to be featured. This game is about balanced equal starts so unless there were an elite vs elite playlist it’s likely we won’t be seeing them in multiplayer
Elites and spartans should both get equal treatment. End of story, I thought we were done with racism.
Just because a group of vocal people on a community complains about something does not represent the interests of the entirety or the majority of a fanbase.
343 Industries have listened to us and changed a couple of things, such as hitmarker noises and sprint nerfs in Halo 5.
You can’t expect your faction to have complete control over 343’s decisions.
They probably do listen to sensible and rational well made feedback that makes sense with what they’re doing. Then they probably take the feedback in consideration and see what, if any, changes to make and how to implement things fans want if they can.

If only it was that easy
I highly doubt they will bring elites into the mix. However, I think they are trying to some what make it up to elite fans by giving them that elite armor set. Downside, you have to beat all the campaigns on legendary. Thankfully, I like being a good ol’ regular Spartan.
No sangheili = instant failure
Elites were the best in Reach because they had their own assassinations, I want to see that again. I doubt 343 are listening because of their arrogance. The phrase “trust us” comes to mind.

Thing is, that elite armor set is not a replacement and it’d be foolish of 343 to even try using that to replace what elite fans want. (Also, adding Spartan as a prefix to everything is becoming EXTREMELY incessant.)
1st. Elites would take too long to develop, 343i would need to remake their abilities, so that they make sense to their species, also they would need to scrap the story-multiplayer crossover. Also they are unbalanced, they have way too big hitboxes, which makes them easy targets, they have enourmous necks making it easier to spot the head and land headshots on them.
2nd. The announcer will be changed, it is 1 year ahead of release, they havent even finished multiplayer maps, programming, etc.
3rd. Spartan Simulation/Cannon Multiplayer is great as it makes an organic connection between the mp and story, it makes the multiplayer be more realistic as if they had them simply fighting it would be to ridiculous and unexplained
