And the handful of Flying monkies being able to take down a MONITOR is even more implausible.
LMAO BRUH
Just rewatched the video
That’s EVEN MORE EMBARRASSING
Spartans shouldn’t have been wearing Mark VII in 2552
Give me a BREAK 343
WHO IS WRITING THIS GAME, AND APPROVING IT? ARE THERE SERIOUSLY ZERO PEOPLE QA TESTING? EVERYTHING IS BROKEN, INCLUDING THE TIMELINE.
I just cannot take 343 seriously anymore. This is pathetic.
EXACTLY.
HALO 3 took place WAYYYY before those Spartan Variants were available.
There was only One Spartan ( Female, I forget her name ) with a prototype Mark VII Armor if I remember right and it looked different.
but but but the Chief has something the others didn’t. Something no one saw. Can you guess? Luck
More like plot armor
Naomi with some spartan ID i forgot
And that’s not the only thing.
In Halo 2 it’s said that Africa is the only place they decided to land. A little later in a comic, or book, some EU regardless, there’s a trick which makes some go the the US if I’m not mistaken. Making it two places.
What are brutes doing in London?
They get lost or fled? Decided to land there and wreck havoc?
Then the introduction of the Spartans.
Which version? 2 or 3? We had Spartan 4’s already back then?
A project which not only was started after the human-covenant war, but was also in two phases because the original plan didn’t work out as planned.
Then, assuming she was 18, and even then regarded as a child. She’d have to enlist, train and get into the program, even if its a voluntary program, I’d assume there are some requirements on being accepted to it. Then get all the qualifications needed to become a base commander, and get to run what I assume is a more prestigeous Base, considering the name, training new Spartan 4’s, which I assume is also a little different in terms of requirements than regular non-augmented troops.
So, I’m going to headcanon the crap out of the trailer.
It’s not Earth-London, it’s not during the siege of Earth.
Instead it’s New London, a city on another planet with similarities to Earth-London, like a replica of Big Ben.
The timing is in the early stages of the Human-Covenant war so it’d give Agryna a whole lot more time.
The Spartans are Spartan 2’s on a mission, say Grey team, and they’re not wearing MK-7 armor but something which looks a lot like it.
Actually your rewrite of it makes a LOT more sense.
New London would set the clock back, explain how the Brutes even got into the city unchecked, and give a 20 year timeframe for her to become commander.
The only unexplainable part is the Mark VII Helmets although we could assume they were Mark VII style helmets but a test version with an outer shell the same as the Mark VII use with an Older version of Mjolnir that later was fully integrated
Her age being 16-20 earlier in the Covie War than Earth would put her at Commander in Late 30’s early 40’s which is way more feasible.
With that Being Said I wouldn’t mind some campaign missions in that London/New London City, given the only Human City we’ve ever gotten is New Mombossa ( Aside from Reach’s New Alexandria )
The Graphics for that Trailer sure we’re amazing. backstory kinda jumbly AF tho
The only way it’d make sense is if the UNSC did the old school WW2 fashion battlefield promotion every time your commanding officer died.
In reality it’s just more uninteresting characters and lazy character development. I mean even the random marines in Halo: CE and Halo 2 had more interesting development in terms of just random funny dialogue then basically every new character 343 has introduced into Halo.
With absolutely zero continuity between Halo 4, 5, and Infinite I’m not even sure who the really enemy is or what the UNSC is fighting anymore. Should have just stuck to the original reclaimer trilogy idea Halo 4 set up.
Spartan Laurette Agryna has taken the role of Acting Commander. With the disappearance of the UNSC Infinity and the destruction of Lagonia Station, the majority of Spartans are scattered or gone. She is likely one of the higher ranking Spartans remaining, and until she confirms the existence of other higher-ranking Spartans being active and available, she is expected to step down.
It’s terrible writing, the timeline didn’t make sense, should have just used Buck or Jun or Palmer, or any other pre-established character that actually has a history of conflict that makes sense for them to be training Spartans.
The only way that London cutscene can be canon and for it to make sense, is if it is canonical military propaganda glorifying the Spartans, but badly done propaganda that is full of historical inaccuracies (the armor, brutes in London etc.).
But to be honest, at this point what is the point of her anyway? She’s just a random tutorial npc. Presumably they’ll do something with her eventually but right now there’s nothing so it really seems a pointless addition to the game. If they were to do a cameo like this I’d rather it was an existing character we were actually interested in seeing more of.
She’s acting commander, my guy. If the chain of command gets crippled, they look for the highest ranking officer, or the most fit person to take command at the time.
Guess everybody else died then, if the new 20 yr old recruit is next in line to be bumped up to acting Commander
Girl power? Who knows…
Well then Maybe 343 should actually EXPLAIN that about her via her Bio with Emphasis that she is the acting Commander or put some actual effort into the Canon of their main characters.
They got time to write 250,000 lines for the Pilot but can’t even give Agryna a properly fleshed out backstory.
Her Character is Fine, she looks cool, has a good voice actor and what not but the inconsistencies of her Suddenly being a high rank after being shown to be a teenager in Halo 3 is silly.
If Everyone else died and she is a Stand in for the previous Chain of command, then 343 should actually EXPLAIN that.
It still doesn’t make sense though, because a Base Commander previously be a Major or Colonel and her having less than a Decade of experience isn’t even close to being enough to being those ranks before transitioning to Base Commander. It realistically takes 20+ years to Reach the Rank of Major-Colonel
Realistically her rank after that amount of time would be Sergeant, unless she started out as an Officer at the UNSC Equivalent of West Point, which still is kinda silly because that implies limited combat experience
Even with Pilot basically being the main character #2 like Halo 5 did to us, I can’t remember his name, or what his point was. I get that he stole a ship out of fear to escape, but where does he think he was going to go out in space with a Pelican? Back to Earth? All the way from Zeta Halo? He spent months out there dying in space, only to magically plot armor save Chief floating right on the front hood, not a mile away or anything believable and inconvenient. Nah, Chief magnetically magically floated to the only vehicle floating miles away from the Ring. What was the Pilot trying to achieve by dying out there in space, no food, no plan, no power, nowhere to go? 343 peak story writing. How did he live out there so long? I don’t remember Pelicans storing months of food and water. His ship and face were frozen. Water would be too. Plot holes everywhere.
I belive it
20 cartoons
It doesn’t make sense that she would be bumped to Base Commander when there are tons of Spartan II’s, III’s and personnel with Combat experience from the war with the Covenant that would be chosen ahead of someone who wasn’t even a soldier until after the Human/Covenant War ended.
Any one of Blue Team would/should be first in line.
They shoulda had one of the Spartans we know from Lore be a Commander and have Agryna being one of the Spartan IV leaders acting in a Capacity like Sgt Johnson.
I would Presume the UNSC lost commanders when Cortana Decimated the UNSC base in Australia or because of the ( supposed loss of Spartans due to Leonidas ) but that implies the UNSC is stupid enough to keep all their eggs in one basket.
And having Leonidas destroy Laconia Station is another “issue” given that story thread was resolved in Leonidas being defeated by the Spartans at the station.
So many inconsistencies…
