And the game has now become almost unplayable because of 343’s terrible matchmaking. What I mean by that is the way that once you start to get higher up in rank, the more you get matched up against teams of four. This is completely unfair, poor matchmaking from 343. I am a Diamond 5 and I got matched up against a team earlier that was 3 Onyx’s and a Champion 30.
If you are in a team of four, the game should make you play against teams of four. I can’t believe I need to put that in writing as it’s the most simple of matchmaking, one that has been around for lots of years.
But this is 343 in a nutshell. They won’t listen to the community on major things that will update their game massively. I have read a hell of a lot of posts about this exact thing, and even I myself have posted about this a few times before, to no avail.
Get this fixed sooner rather than later 343. Although I am not confident in the slightest that they will.

Dude, it’s hell. I’m in Onyx 1663 last I checked, and teams are pretty common. I went against Trunks JL and his team 2 days ago TWICE, and on the same map/gametype combination as well.
The matching is terrible, teams should play teams, solo with solo, ranks with ranks. Why am I getting matched with Low Diamond-Onyx 1800 players?
I’m high gold/low platinum but somehow hit diamond in team arena. Worst thing I ever did. Overachieving in Halo 5 sucks the fun right out of the game, unless you enjoy getting matched with higher skilled and more coordinated players. Gold is where the fun is lol.

I know right? I am holding my own at high Diamond, I’m not getting beat every game or anything. More often than not I will when against a team though for obvious reasons. But it is true though, the matchmaking against the ranks is also terrible. I was in a game before where a gold was against us, when our team was mainly diamonds and an onyx. He got destroyed for obvious reasons. It was good luck for us obviously, but I still don’t like it because It’s completely unfair. Of course, this happens the other way round regularly as well
Most seasons I get ranked mid gold but finish the season with an 8+ average KDA. Routinely beating diamond level players. The matching system is poor and as much as I do like topping games, i’d rather not be matched with players going 3-20 either. I’m sure they’d agree, I don’t see how theyre having fun.

First off Have a 51 win % but I quit after I struggled my way into Diamond so it doesn’t reflect my experiences playing in Diamond. That being said I agree, diamond was no fun for pretty much exactly the same reasons.
Even if you get matched with a team of lesser skilled coordinated players it’s not going to be fun.

Halo is a team based game. On top of that once you’re near onyx, its a given that you will only climb so much further from there on your own (excluding small exceptions), this is pretty much a given for any team based game with a ranking system. Halo has always been super competitive as well, meaning…the better you play, the higher the difficulty. Your MMR will adjust itself after a few losses and start matching you against people you are more on par with (like when people are diamond/low onyx but only have the skill of high platinum). Sometimes, high ranking players run into teams that are climbing the ladder and are better but are further down in rank at that moment. When they lose to the lower rank, the game sometimes thinks they should be playing lower ranks…which are the moments you run into them. Though these moments are brief, they can be frustrating at the time. Take them as learning experiences to improve, not everything is supposed to be easy. We all have to “try hard” at some point.

That’s not going to do anything, majority of the Warzone players would just rank Platinum, hardly any competition. Without a team, they’re average.

Firstly, your rank has nothing to do with the strength of your argument. Whether you are high ranked or not is irrelevant to this discussion.

I mentioned it so I don’t get players typing, “MadCuzBad”.
The matching system is. I probably should have worded that a bit better, the rank does mean something.
What I should have said was that the ranks mean nothing because you still get matched with players above/below you. I’ve been matched with Platinum 1’s all the way to Champion 60. I’ve been matched with teams against randoms. It doesn’t do it’s job sometimes.
