So I was looking at my previous opinions

I was scrolling through my posts of Waypoint’s past and I came upon upon an old post pre-Halo 4 release.

> Come on guys, 343 has been working on Halo 4 for the past 4 something years and have done so much to make it awesome. But in this forum, there are so many people who are just hating on what 343 is doing. I know 99% of everyone here respects them for what they do, but the changes that they make in Halo are for them to decide. They know that they have to balance promethen vision and camping or the noob combo. That’s why they make the game. They’re not going to go through all of this work to make a failure of a game!
>
> I know that there are those of you trying to help 343 with your thoughts and that’s perfectly fine obviously, nothing goes without criticism, and that’s what these forums are for. But then there are some of us who can’t help but to say something negative about almost everything. Elites look like slugs, grunts look limited, jackals look like velociraptors and therefore they’re stupid. Personally, I like everything that I’ve seen with Halo 4 and don’t have a problem with it (besides the enemy of the spartan: water).
>
> I can see that I have a good chance of fighting this battle by myself (that’s usually how these threads turn out), but I mainly want to thank 343 and everything they’ve done for Halo. They’ve inspired me within the release of Reach to continue my path of life in video game creation. Heck, i’d even work there if I could but I’m 14 and Halo could be over by the time I’m out of college.
>
> Anyways, thanks 343 and I hope I made some point.

Now I know that this is a bit irrelevant to what’s been going on in the community (examples being weapon tuning, map fixing, etc.) but I remember how much I anticipated Halo 4 like watching videos, reading over released info (over and over), and imagining what gameplay would be like. Then when I got the game, I lost those feelings and began to be annoyed by the game and curse the dreaded DMR or plasma nade spamming.

Now I look back on those days and feel somewhat awful. I mean, I still play the game, right? I still love the story, right? I still am going to buy every Halo game, right? So I now realize that in a way, I have seen the error of my ways and I do regret them. I want to thank 343i for taking on the task of continuing the Halo universe as it’s no light burden. Sure I’m still going to complain about what I don’t like the game as no game is perfect, but deep down I’m just happy I get to play some good old Halo, even with its changes.

So yeah, I just mean this out of a personal thank you but anyways, thanks 343i for the fun I’ve had with Halo and I hope I did make some point.

PS- I still kinda wish I worked with you guys, but since I know I can’t, I hope to use your inspiration in life.

lol
I thought the same thing a few weeks ago while looking through old posts.

And I too would like to work as a part of 343 Industries.

So you just want to praise their good intentions? fair enough.

Remind me, what was the road to hell paved with?

I’m not really sure what you mean by that, and I was just complementing them for their hard work, not praising.

A fresh bouquet of skittles arranged in a glorious double rainbow of friendship and compassion?

The road to Hell was paved with “GOOD INTENTIONS”

Yeah i can’t praise the people who took a winning formula and tossed it out the window for recycled FPS crap…

Best comment of the day so far.
But seriously, I have read some of my older commments. Some of them make me look like a complete -Blam!-, I’m not saying that I’m not a -Blam!- but it doesn’t make me look good nonetheless.

Some of my older comments are telling people to put a little faith in 343i, this was before the first patch. Since then the remote trust I’ve had has pretty much diminished. I want to trust them, but everything they are doing seems to be what they want and not what Halo needs.

Some of my older comments I still stand by, regardless of what has happened.

As for thanking 343i, no, I’m not going to do that. They have done a decent job, but in all fairness, they just haven’t really been completely in-tune with what the franchise really needs.

Also, the Xbox 360 is too old to have continued the franchise. Halo 4 should have been a Next-Gen title, it could have been released Day 1 for the Xbox, imagine the sales. It could have had so much more content if it was released on the next-gen console.

And leave us with Reach for another two years? Yeah… I don’t think that would have been a wise move… besides what’s the practicality most people will be able to pull out an extra who-knows-how-much-money out of their wallets to buy the next gen XBox, most likely other games, and a Halo 4 with lots of content that would make it around $90 with all of the extra stuff? Chances are a lot of people would have to let Halo 4 slide until they could get enough cash to pay for it if it were to be released with the next gen.

To be honest, they made this game with the intentions to screw over competitive gameplay which is why I’m so angry, it wasn’t even like they tried and messed up, halo 4 was exactly what they were trying to make. I also don’t appreciate the constant lies they have put out.

In my older posts I used to tell “jokes”. After a few months of waiting most things just didn’t seem that funny anymore.

Halo 4 was released in November, with the next-gen Xbox set to be released at the end of this year (Not yet confirmed). It’s likely that we would be stuck with Reach for another year.

Some people spent $100 just to play Halo, some even forking out $300+ for the console. Imagine spending £500 for something that will last another 6 years or so rather than spending $300 for something that is already at the end of its life-span. Doesn’t seem like a stupid investment now does it?

Halo 4 would/should/could have made a lot more people buy the next-gen console. Currently, I have no immediate plan to buy one. I’m waiting for news of Halo 5 before I even consider purchasing a next-gen Xbox.

I’m done with this subject, can’t be asked to debate over something that we have literally no control over. I would on another occasion but I have more tedious issues to tackle in real life (Like cleaning the bathroom).

My bathroom is OP.
