And it’s weapons still seem a bit weak compared to the H4 mantis. I don’t see why it’s such a high req level. The ghost ultra seems more powerful especially weapon wise.
I love the ONI Mantis. Most fun I’ve had in warzone in a long time. As long as you make sure you don’t take too much damage, and regenerate your shields often it can be really powerful.

The mantis is a fun vehicle. But the H4 mantis would whoop the oni mantis no problem.
It is not as strong as I thought it would be
I only used 4 i think and just one served me right.
I have 40+ of them sitting around and never use them only once prior to today. i think i managed to get around 3 kills with a regular mantis on stormbreak. Today i wanted to use a oni but not enough req points so used a tundra and got a frenzy with it so i was surprised. Tried to get boarded by plasma caster twice had to get out and kill guy. Got lucky honestly. But i definitely think the mantis is good in the right place right time. I used it in warzone when we were crushing them having two bases and pushing for 3rd. As long as your fighting one guy at a time. A few and you will die fast.

Pretty much this. That, and the Halo 4 mantis was really overpowering, which was half of why they decided to disable the lock-on for the rockets in multiplayer. it would pretty much wreck any other vehicle assuming the person using it was smart.
Also, doesn’t the ONI mantis have infinite ammo in the chaingun? (I haven’t earned it yet, but this applies to the ONI Hog)

So is the difference between the oni mantis and the other mantises that you can lock on to multiple targets at a time? Did I read that right?
And does the chain gun over heat? I bet it doesn’t

The h4 mantis is my favorite vehicle. The h5 mantis is heavily nerfed and harder to use and because of this I no longer get 20+ kills with a mantis.
Edit: I would take the h4 mantis over the h5 ONI mantis. More accurate chain gun, full control rockets, stronger shield, less base health, semi lock on. The lock on with the h5 mantis is the only upside.

I don’t think multiple targets, and yes the chain overheats.

Full control rockets: fire them individually or Your choice of rockets 2-5. H4 mantis.
Semi lock on: will partially track banshees outside of PVE. Hence not a full lock on ability. H4 mantis.
