Unsurprisingly to anyone not outright lying it’s world’s easier to aim all of a sudden, and the other weapons aren’t so awkward to use… Saying that is such an understatement too. I went from hardly being able to get a single kill in PvP to being able to do reasonably well. “Bro controller is fine I tried it once!” Yes, and the moon is actually made out of cheese.
If you can, please just do yourself a favor and play this game on PC rather than playing, while effectively kneecapped. Even if you think you’re okay as is you have no idea how much of an improvement to aiming it makes overall.
Now all I’m left with is one question. 343i, did you actually try playing this on console without M&K plugged in?
Edit: So I did some testing. Controller input on PC has aim assist, while it’s console counterpart does not. The difference? Night and day. Halo Infinite is better on PC.
You guys got me curious, so I busted out the controller. Low and behold you are right. I can ACTUALLY see that there is in fact aim assist. I’m wondering if something broke with console aim assist that rendered it non-functional.
I gave it the ultimate test which was the commando which is next to unviable on console, and it’s actually decent. Even a round of BTB and not running a hard negative. Halo Infinite is actually enjoyable when your guns work properly.
i’d rather we go back to some traditional covenant weapons adn fixing the plasma pistol like the type 25 plasma rilfle maybe even the brute version? the fuel rod cannon? and instead of the ravenger maybe replace that with the red type-25 plasma rifle?
AA on console (series x): I don’t know if it is package loss, desync or bad opponents connection but sometimes it feels absolutely non existinf. The reticle gets all over the place. In other games i’m just melting the opponents and it ferls like my aum is always right on spot.
Another theory: someone made a thread about intentional manipulation by the game to keep the motivation up. By know I even think 343 implemented something like this without telling people…
Either way, it feels mich like H5 and leads to an immense high level of frustration.
I already did this testing, and it’s clear that Xbox with controller is the same as PC with controller. I really have a hard time believing people like OP, especially when I have both Series X and PC and done my own testing. Not only have I done my own testing, I even made a video proving it…

Although my video isn’t about the aim assist on console, you can clearly see that aim assist does exist in the beginning of my video.
Idk about easier to aim, but it’s definitely nice to look around faster. Always hated slow right stick camera movement. Controller just sucks in general since you can’t use the aim stick and buttons at the same time without back paddles/buttons. The trade is that controller has toggle stick walking speed and directions you can’t do with WASD, since WASD sucks. That’s why I always recommend a toggle stick keyboard or left hand controller right hand mouse, like Hori Tactical Controllers. People need to quick arguing over which is better and just use both or neither, because both have good and bad qualities that 3rd party options do better. It’s not the 90s anymore. We have had other control options since PS2.
You don’t just suddenly develop better aim to this extent in the matter of minutes. Whatever testing you did needs another look unless there’s something going on where some people may be unaffected. On console this is borderline unplayable at least for PvP. The difference for me is night and day.
Regardless, I can actually enjoy the bloody game and that’s good enough for me. I’ll let 343i do the detective work from here assuming they intend to look into this matter.
It needs another look? Why, because it doesn’t fit your narrative? What I did and what I show simply cannot be anymore clear, controller clearly has the advantage. I’m still not understanding what you mean by it needs another look. What I showed in my video gets carried in multiplayer, you have to be more on target with MnK than you do controller. I can nail perfects with the BR on controller with no problem, with MnK I’m lucky to get one perfect a night and that’s a problem. Your “words” really don’t hold any value when there’s plenty of videos on YouTube, including mine that explain and show otherwise.
Are we talking about the same thing? You sound like you’re saying the aim assist is OP, while I’m just saying PC controller aim assist exists, while console controller aim assist doesn’t. Imo M&K, and PC controller felt relatively similar with the exception that I’m not used to M&K for this kind of game.
If we are on the same page, I’m not going to argue over whether something I’ve seen with my own eyes exists, or not. That and I’m not going to keyboard warrior in defense of my “narrative”. I know what my experience is and if you don’t believe me I don’t really care.
I just wanted to share my findings, so that others who have been getting thrashed, because their controller is possessed by the spirit of a drunken monkey can also enjoy a level playing field for a change.
My video shows my Xbox Series X on the left hand side of my monitor and my PC on the right hand side of my monitor. I have a Samsung Odyssey Neo G9, I can do picture by picture. In the beginning of my video, you can clearly see aim assist is working on the left hand side, which is my Series X. My video isn’t about the aim assist being OP, it’s about the bullet magnetism being OP with controller but, add the aim assist with the stronger bullet magnetism you get with controller, controller has the advantage.
