I’ve had Halo 5 since launch and love it. However, i’m kinda frustrated that I STILL haven’t got the H2 BR. Now to be fair, I stopped playing for a while so I dont have all the permanent REQs yet but does anyone have any tips to getting the H2BR req? Should I get silver or gold packs? I think the h2br is a Legendary req, so it’s only in gold packs, right? But if I dont have all the other reqs yet, am I wasting my time on gold packs? Should I get more silver packs first?
I wish 343i would let me just BUY the h2br since they LOVE microtransactions so much(i’d actually pay a dollar or 2 for it), but they want me to buy whole packs without even the certainty of getting the ONE item I want, and I won’t do that. Sorry.
Anyway, any advice to maximize my chances? Thanks.

Get silver until you get RP cards instead of perm unlocks.
Looking at your Halo 5 stats, I would say that you are pretty far off from the average rank that people expect to get the H2BR. As you said, the Halo 2 BR is Legendary (actually Mythic), so it is an extremely rare unlock. TO maximize chances for getting it, you must systematically unlock common-rare REQs before moving on to Ultra Rare and Legendary. This means opening Silver packs until you get RP refunds instead of permanents. At that point, you can switch to Gold packs, and then you will be guaranteed to get ultra rare or better permanent unlocks.
By buying Gold packs now, so early in your Halo 5 career, you completely leave it up to chance when you could get the Halo 2 BR.

Remember that the req card are random so if you only buy golds without silvers you are most likely to get silver stuff in the gold packs so less chances to get your halo 2 BR so grind silvers until refounds and go to golds. And remember is mythic so is one of the hardest to get.

The really crappy part is if you have been buying mostly golds so far, you’ve wasted a good amount of time/RP already that should’ve went to silvers

Warzone Assault could be over is 6 minutes for 1,200 REQ points so I always do that.

Just keep on buying silver packs.

Finish Silvers and then go to Gold. It’s almost a waste of points to try and be premature. I just finished Silver not too long ago, but I’m still hunting for that H2BR. It takes forever and a day if you don’t have the time, ha ha!

Yup, people usually get it +100 SR.
It’s a very rare unlock unless you have few things left to unlock. A player could open it from their first gold pack at level 3, or it could be your last gold pack at level 140. Just keep at it and you will eventually get it. The best way to do it is open bronze packs until you stop getting permanent unlocks. Then do the same with silvers which will leave you with just ultra rare, legendary and mythic unlocks left in gold packs. This is the best way to unlock everything whilst spending the least amount of Req points possible. However since you’re only interested in getting the H2 BR, you might want to just go for gold packs, your call.
I literally just got mine last week with one of the Gold packs from the Halo Wars 2 beta and that was after opening all my common-rare REQs and opening countless Gold packs. I want to say I was level 124-125 when I finally got it.
How wer y’all gettin them at 120-140 cuz I got mine at level 90 somthin
I got lucky and got mine at 87, just keep praying to RNJesus, maybe you’ll get lucky
