So. I paid for Nightfall. Its not working.

These is just one more post about this problem. I have the disc, used the code, yada yada yada, can’t watch Nightfall.

A friend of mine return the game and changed for a new copy. His new code worked. Thats the official fix?

Lets see if 343 at least show interest in this case.

Same problem. Tried reinstalling both Halo and Halo channel and it still doesn’t work. Getting very frustrated. Nightfall was one of the things I was really looking forward to an haven’t been able to watch it now the third episode is out and I just get more frustrated.

Same here. I’ve now given up and I’m watching YouTube versions,

I’ve tried every troubleshooting solution that has been posted and none of them have worked. Like I know MP is important to get fix but I also paid for this show as part of the package and expect to be able to watch it. This needs to be addressed also.

Exactly. At this moment, Im in a chat with Microsoft support regarding this. It’s been 4 hours of chat so far, and nothing.
IF, a solution comes up, I will let you guys know.

This is important as MP.

After SIX HOURS, yes, six hours, of chat with Microsoft support, they decided to “escalate” (whatever that means), and get in contact with me later. Durings this six hours, they try a lot of things. Some weird routers reset, cleansing the cache in Xbox, blame my internet provider, yada yada yada, and finally they take note of my code. And then, they start to tell me the code is not right.

Thats right. The code is not recognized by them as correct. Its weird, cos I remember clearly that the code was recognized by the Kinect, and stated on the screen that it give me the right to download Nightfall.

Then, they ask me to send a picture of the code. They will contact me later regarding that.

Sucks to be you. Mine works just fine. And I’m enjoying every second of it… And being rewarded for watching. Who knows, maybe its your internet.
 winky face

Same problem. I was able to watch episode one but after that it tells me to by halo the master chief collection. What the actual hell.

There are numerous topics relating to this on the forums, have you tried any of the troubleshooting steps listed on them? Look for the thread by the forum team in the Halo Channel support forums. If you bought the physical copy of the MCC, make sure you redeemed the code for nightfall that came in the box

Really? I scanned the QR code and went into MCC and went into Nightfall from there and that worked. So far MCC has worked really good for me, especially compared to everyone else.

Same here. Very frustrating.

Technically, you paid for Halo 2 Anniversary.(if it were sold completely separate, it would still have been $60), everything else (including Halo: Nightfall) was free.

I… You… What???

This is some weird form of trolling, right?

I don’t know about the ones that have the problem where it tells you to buy Halo whenever you try to watch it, but I do know that if you try to watch Nightfall (or any of the terminal videos) and have the console connected to some kind of external recorder like an Elgato, Avermedia or Hauppauge game capture device, it will trigger the console’s HDCP and refuse to play the video. So, if you aren’t able to watch it and you do use a game capture device, then that’s your problem.
This is obviously not a glitch, but rather an anti-piracy measure to ensure that only people that bought the game can watch the “premium” content.

No, of course not. Halo: CE Anniversary sold for $60, it’s safe to assume Halo 2 Anniversary would’ve as well.

That is why the MC Collection was such a great deal. You buy the game, and get everything else for free.

This is just so wrong…

Its not “safe to assume that H2A would’ve as well” reality actually tells us the exact opposite, because it wasn’t. The moment that this game was being labeled as “the master chief collection”, THAT is what we paid for. Everything on top of H2A isn’t “free” just because you feel it is… this game was being marketed as being able to relive master chiefs journey. we PAID for halo 1-4 and CEA/2A. The only thing that was actually given to us for free is Halo Nightfall because that actually IS being charged for separately.

You can’t just claim that everything other than H2A was free because a game on last gen was sold for full price.

No, I’m saying everything else is free because Halo CE Anniversary and Halo 2 anniversary are of the same ‘type’ of game - they both are priced similarly, as a result.

Just because a package contains multiple objects, that doesn’t mean you’re paying money for each of them.

Because at that point, H2A would’ve been 25-30ish dollars.(Which, considering MORE work was put into it that in CEA, it’s actually UNDERPRICED). It just makes sense that you buy the one game, and the rest is free.
It’s just economic logic.

That is not economic logic… economic logic would indicate that your willingness to purchase the game may have went up because of H2A. But that’s ONLY for you, that doesn’t speak for everyone. What actually came out, was the MCC, if you are going to allocate a dollar value to each title in it, then yes each title would be around $15-$20, but that’s irrelevant since its being sold as a bundle. You can speculate all you want whether or not if the game would have sold at full price by itself, but that’s as far as that can go, because again, in reality, it didn’t. What you are doing is called an unfalsifiable claim.

That’s actually EXACTLY what it means…

Taken directly from dictionary.com:
Package
a group, combination, or series of related parts or elements to be accepted or rejected as a single unit.

Refer to it as you will, just know that, even in it’s current partially-broken state, it is still a great deal, and I feel we have no reason to complain - all we can do, is inform them of the troubles, in hopes that they will fix it.

Nightfall worked for me right away. Here are the steps I followed:

  1. I downloaded Halo channel from the store on Xbox One.
  2. I launched the channel after it installed
  3. I watched a few Halo 101 videos.
  4. I restarted my console
  5. I got to the code redemption screen on my Xbox One (Store / Games / Use a code)
  6. I let the Kinect scan the QR code of the Nightfall card
  7. I waited for the Halo Channel prompt to appear and notify me that the update is complete (I held down the guide button to launch into the App)

tl;dr - Follow the steps to win at life.
