So I noticed something interesting

So in the Halo Infinite campaign gameplay trailer I noticed something interesting. In the portion where the banished brute (of which I forget the name of) and it switches to the fleet of ships near the pelican, it isn’t actually a fleet of ships. It’s people, given the fact that they all have ranks with the emblems of ranks from Halo: Reach. This also explains why some have “ODST”, ONI, and plain UNSC emblems. The UNSC Infinity did have a large compliment of persons, including those of ONI.

Screenshot by Lightshot In this link right here you can clearly identify the name “William”. It isn’t significant at all, but more or less just a way to prove that they are people. Although I couldn’t identify it perfectly, it looks like there’s blood type in there, which signifies it is indeed a human name and not a UNSC ship named “William”

This isn’t quite important, but I thought it was interesting to note as in a lot of videos I have watched it’s a common misconception that those are UNSC ships.

This may suggest that the Banished possibly used the grind itself to jettison the UNSC troops into space like seen in Halo Wars 2 when Anders uses the rings system to launch the banished forces into space.

EDIT: Also, it would explain why the rest of the markers have no models but the pelican does. And why they’re all smaller than the pelican.

That is both an interesting and an eery theory.

Maybe I’m blind but I’m not seeing a William in that screenshot.

Screenshot by Lightshot It’s hard to see because my monitor is kinda low res, but it’s definitely names for people.

Screenshot by Lightshot At the top left much like William is a much more visible “Lopez”

I didn’t realise that people thought they were ships, given that all of the ones I’ve seen say ‘Infinity’, which is obviously itself a ship (that I really hope hasn’t been destroyed off-screen, and that Lasky is still alive).

As for the jettison idea…Possibly, but I don’t know if the species in the Banished would be able to control a Halo to do that. Non-human contact with Forerunner tech, aside from the Forerunners themselves, is a little inconsistent…

Well, it’s easily mistaken for those ships just being attached under the UNSC Infinity, I’ve seen it be mentioned as a “UNSC fleet” in several videos I have watched.

And yeah, it’s really inconsistent. But the banished figured out to tap into the teleportation network of the Ark, so it’s reasonable they can use such stuff to tap into whatever Anders had used.

Also yes I do hope Lasky is alive, he was a good character in Halo 4, in my opinion.

Now that you really point it out, it is strange how the markers say deceased. If those were ships, I’d assume it’d say destroyed or something like that. Kinda grim that the dude in his Pelican was floating admit a sea of corpses.
