And I gotta say, I think it’s going to shape halo 5 completely. I think master chief is going to be looking for Halsey in halo 5. Do yous think it will have a big impact on the halo 5 campaign? I love the spartan OP cutscenes so much!
I wish I could like the Spartan Ops cutscenes more. I just can’t get over how it makes no sense with how anyone in the UNSC is just invincible, whereas anyone Covenant or Promethean is literally a braindead stump that gets killed in like 0.5 of a second.
And you could argue that “oh it’s more realistic, not gameplay” but that doesn’t explain how Jul M’damas entire Covenant Remnant is just made of Elite Minors that don’t even know which end of the Storm Rifle is the front end. Or how Palmer has magical pistols that can kill a Promethean Knight in 2 shots. Honestly it suffers from the worst case of plot armor I’ve ever seen.
That said the non combat parts are very nice, I especially liked the bits from the Covenant Remnants point of view, even though they were like 30 seconds long at the most. Then it jumps back to Palmer saying “halsey is evil because ONI, the most secretive and untrustworthy part of the UNSC, told me to hate her.”
But yeah I would imagine the events of Spartan Ops will come into play in the next Halo game, perhaps John still thinks Halsey can get Cortana back so he goes looking for her.

Look on the bright side, now that Elites can die within 2 seconds, Chief will have to endure the bs we went through. He will know our pain!!!

Haha yeah, and that War Sphinx, or whatever it is, in the teaser should count itself lucky that Palmer wasn’t there and killed it by shooting it twice with her pistols.

In terms of the Storm’s incompetence, these cut scenes are framed like every Hollywood action movie. The heroes are invincible.
I like Palmer’s portrayal because she suspects that all is not on the up and up with ONI ordering a hit on a civilian, but carrying out the order anyways…
I like Laskey’s portrayal because it continues to show him as a free-thinker, rather than an automaton military type.
I like this idea of Osman continuing the shadiness of ONI. I think that a schism in the UNSC is going to occur or Master Chief vs. the UNSC/ONI…

It’s for storytelling, if they were there for like 10 seconds shooting at Elites it’d be rather boring wouldn’t it? I learnt not to let it bother me (I’m pretty sure Marines die in the Prometheans assault on Infinity in the videos anyway)
Spartan Ops suffered greatly from having everyone leave their brains at home with the exception of Lasky, Roland, and Halsey. Many of the major characters are completely unlikeable, and the writing is extremely poor. In sum: Whoever wrote this garbage needs to go get some inspiration from some quality literature. I would recommend anything written by Peptuck. At least his characters know how to find their own backsides without the need for both hands, a map, and a GPS system.
