So I Just Played A Game With Unyshek 😳

And I totally blew it. I went 6-13 and played like absolute garbage. To be fair, my roommate had just gotten back home and was trying to show me a very large icicle. In the basement. And my ping was 65 instead of the usual 20. Plus being slightly star struck. All in all, a very hot mess of a situation. This was also my first game of the day and I knew I was only getting the one in before dinner so I didn’t even bother to record. Very upset about that.

But that’s not what I meant when I said I blew it. I blew it because I didn’t actually give the community manager any community feedback. I’ve made plenty of threads, laughing at the irony of pretending it’s not shouting into the void, hoping that someone in a position such as his was listening. And when presented with the opportunity, all I could do was be star struck. And while I did mean what I said at the end of the game(something along the lines of ā€œThanks for what you do!ā€, I can’t quite remember), I wish they hadn’t replaced these words that I held back.

This game is almost amazing, bar two major things. The Desync/Servers and the Shop. If it weren’t for those two things, plenty of my not die-hard Halo fan friends would feel comfortable coming back and playing this game every single day, even with all the other problems.

But instead I got nervous, cause I don’t know what he truly deals with all day, and I don’t know how he forms his opinion on people if their first intent is to complain about something he’s worked hard on. I know, he’s the community manager, but like I said, there was a lot going on in my mind. So in another shout to the void, maybe the community manager will see this thread and hear what I should have said instead.

To close out I just wanna say, giving us a 100% transparent update on both of those things could go a long way. Not just for the community that’s actively listening, but also the community that’s already moved on but might come back. Instead, you lie about the shop to us constantly and barely even address the desync issues. With the shop, I know there’s not much you can do there, but you need to paint a clearer picture for the execs in charge at Microsoft. Their ā€œclever tricksā€(cash grabs) are losing them a lot more money than they would be making from keeping players around who would feel rewarded from using the shop. And the Desync just has most of us baffled. You’re barely addressing it at all in the updates, almost as if you’re pretending it’s not a real thing. It was even happening during the game we played, but since all of our pings were so high I didn’t even feel it was worth it to bring it up. There’s a lot more I could ramble on about, but it would start to get nitpicky eventually. I just wish I had said what was on my mind in the first place.

P.S. @Unyshek, if you do end up reading this and you would like to know more of my opinion on the game, here are some videos I’ve made for Halo Infinite so far. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUDD_mxieDPd3lhBnaFir5g. I’m not very good at it yet, but this is more in depth feedback about how I feel about Halo. I promise it won’t all be complaining forever :^)

This is weird to see after playing years of btb forge customs with him. He’s just a regular dude man. Tell him how you feel about Halo next time

That’s one thing I think people fail to grasp. 343i isn’t some evil faceless corporation. They’re just normal people like you and me. Hell I text one of them regularly and just talk about our dogs.

A good bit of their current staff started out as just regular Halo fans like the rest of us.

Yeah, I wasn’t so much stuck at meeting Unyshek in matchmaking as much as I was stuck at the chances of it happening. I don’t know much about him as a person, but I know the position he holds is fairly important. Didn’t want to come off as only negative about the game, so I couldn’t quite figure out how to put the words together.
