So I just got a challenge - AFTER ALL OTHERS were completed... and it's BS

So… I get you guys don’t know what to make challenges out of… but… having every other weekly done - then suddenly “Win 17 matches” as the final challenge? Come on. I could have been working on this through the entire set!

This is just blatant padding for play time.
Not to mention - the hackers are starting to really show up. No, it’s not a lack of skill thing or a ‘they are in a team’ thing, it is a blatant “flying around the map shooting sniper shots” thing and for whatever dumb reason we can’t report them from in game.

Also… WHY CAN’T WE SEE CHALLENGES WHILE IN GAME?

17 wins? That is indeed pretty harsh. And here I thought the 5 killing sprees last week was rough, 17 wins is even more time consuming. Devs really need to tone it down with these weekly ultimate challenges.

It is an ultimate challenge I guess. Very time consuming though.

I’ve also got a challenge to kill 10 people in your friendly zone which is pretty outrageous. I have played 5 hours this week and have had a single game of Strongholds/no games of Total Control.

I had to get 10 kills with Jorge’s turret which was way quicker and easier than this ha.

My hardest this week seems to be getting 3 long distance saviors. Not sure just how hard that will be yet as I haven’t attempted it, but if it’s as long distance as I think I basically have to save 3 teammates from death from across the map with a sniper, which if it is that it will be super grindy. And then I have 17 wins to grind out after that. Sigh.

I am struggling to find any good comment on this.

It is not even 24h after the weekly reset. It is the Capstone challenge that is meant to be “hard and special”. Most of the time 50% of players win a match.
And is there REALLY any way to complain “Ohh no, I need to win in a competive multiplayer game that makes me fight other people” like… Do you plan on playing the MP to look at the chickens on Bassar and Highpower?

How many games would you say you played where you had that challenge, and didn’t get any zone mode?

Agreed.
Anyone who smashes out all the Weeklies in less than a day has too much time on their hands, and probably suffers from a vitamin D deficiency.

At least they have the rest of the week to work on 17 wins.
Which, lets be honest, shouldn’t be that hard for a player who’s reached the Capstone this quickly.

I got stung by this just as the challenges had an hour left… and I’d spent all night thinking I’d just be able to beat it and get the reward but nope… Nearly spent the next hour just running into the enemy and throwing matches so I could somehow speed run games.

It’s the 3rd week and you’re just now learning about Ultimate Challenges?

Are you new or something? Did you never click on the customization next to the challenges, where it blatantly tells you that you’ll get another one after completing your main 20?

I did 14/20 weeklies Within 2 hours…

NOW i have to kill 5 spartan withh a wasp
play 2 btb Matches
5 kills with commando
15 sidekick kills

That means i ll finish These 4 rly quick as well…

Challenges could be harder…

Does it matter?
This feels condecending. I didn’t learn of ultimate challenges in the game, but in this forum.
Afterwards I’ve seen on a few places in the game with little text some information on the Ultimate Challenge.

Why not have it as a countdown under the challenges?
X / 20 challenges completed to unlock Ultimate Weekly challenge?

Unless i343 makes the information more visible, new players will ask this when they encounter it.

@TheWaIkingDev this is the problem I fear - when people can’t play “as much as I do” and get this on the Final day of the week - now “win 17” becomes nearly impossible for people with only an hour or 2 to play a day. And no “use a challenge swapper” isn’t an acceptable answer - those are given every few ranks, but also makes it the “make a problem, sell the solution” tactic.

@Astrogenesis Ok so. First off - it doesn’t matter how much time - if we are to test this, the people that can put in 10 hours a day will obviously get to the end first. Be glad we can state these things to both get you ready for them - or - a similar challenge. Stating “has a vitamin D” and such - doesn’t matter, btw the sun isn’t the only source of Vit-D , some of us work overnights, and haven’t seen the sun in 20 years. (or at least a ‘normal day’)

Secondly - several of you mention challenges I never have seen, the Friendly Zone one, Long Distance Savior, etc, Never seen those - so there is a chance YOU won’t see the “win 17 matches” this is just another PROBLEM with the game, not only do we all join in “lone wolf” style, but our individual challenges might be VASTLY different.

It would be better if we all had THE SAME. The reason being, if I know you need to cap a flag, and win a ctf map - even if I no longer need those - I can try to help you, and so can the rest of your team. If you need Hammer kills - ok , I’ll help you get hammer. You know, TEAM WORK in a MULTIPLAYER game.

But Right now, it’s “you have random poodoo to do, I have random poodoo to do good luck your on your own”

Challenges don’t need to be harder - they are only to get XP to progress in the BattlePass/ranking system, of which there is nearly nothing for free worth getting. So - NO to that. If anything they need to be more generic - even if we see them multiple times. # Kills with “weapon” is boring anyway, and only pushes people to grab the weapon that may not even know how to use it - which if your in a “win # matches” type challenge, puts you at a disadvantage.

no, I’ve had all the weeklies done so far - this is the FIRST time I’ve seen “win 17 matches” as one. 17 is such an odd number too, why 17? why not 15, why not 20? 20 would at least be “another rank” (50xp per match, win or lose) but 17? Seems they scaled it down because “20 seemed too much” but they didn’t bother considering each match is about 10-15 minutes long, so your looking at over 2 hours - if you win constantly.

I just played 4 games. It took an hour. At this rate (winning 2 of the 4) it might take me the rest of the week to do. And the reward XP isn’t even worth it!
Challenges need to have XP related to effort. All challenges are essentially “time and luck” - even the worst player will get the (working ones at least) hardest challenge eventually - but if it takes HOURS upon HOURS to do - even if your “really good at it” it needs to be WORTH IT.

It’s only worth 400xp, not even half a rank. Sure I can ‘xp boost it’ and all - but once again, break the system and sell the solution.

Keep in mind, 17 games will be 850xp from just “complete a match” 50xp’s, and then not to mention how many I don’t win, and then I just get a sprinkle of 400xp on top - after probably 5 hours of constantly playing and trying to win every single match. (not a fun way to play unless your playing RANKED.)

Since it was the final challenge for all the weekly’s I don’t even think it allowed for me to use a challenge swap… Instead I stayed up til 4am trying to play enough games but alas i came up a few games short and the time ran out…

I had to get one of those, managed to get a bunch in Big Team with the BR. Range is decent but not as far as you think, it’s possible to get them in 4v4 maps as I get fair few of them in ranked.

I’m not sure dude, a couple of hours at least. I’m sceptical of the whole challenges affect weighting. I think we are just more aware when we aren’t getting gametypes with a challenge active. I feel like I barely get Total Control normally so imagine it is lower weighting than everything else.

This. I’ve gotten quite a few in 4v4 as well. You don’t need to crossmap someone to get the medal.

You can see how many challenges remain in the challenge menu. You can press a button, Y on controller, to see the challenges you have lined up, so you can see all 20.

I found this stuff on the first day I played. Then again, I also make sure I fully navigate every inch of a UI before I even play any game. I suppose the info could be more readable, but it’s still there as is.

I’m skeptical too, but I’d like to look into it, because I don’t think it’s something that should be overlook.
Remember the patents Activision got for programs to incentivise buying MTXs?

1: Match ups: Each match is essentially intentionally inbalanced skill wise. You’d get two or three matches on the winning side where you are able to dominate, then you’d get a few matches where you’d get dominated.

2: Microtransaction matchups: People with cool skins would get matched with those who do not, and the kill cam would highlight the weapon and the skin used. Making MTX buyers walking commercials when they killed others.

I wouldn’t put it past i343 to start weighing game modes based on challenges you’ve got.
It’s entirely possible that it’s all coincidence, because the possibility is there.

With that in mind, when I started yesterday, I got a Stockpile challenge, and two more, can’t recall.
Now, after completing one, I got a Total Control Challenge as well, instant Total Control match, so nothing there. Also completed another challenge, and now I need a CTF match to capture a flag.
Continued with BTB and currently, I still have the Stockpile match undone because it never showed up, and no CTF match yet.
Since I started, I played 4 slayer matches, and 4 total control matches, that’s with the Stockpile challenge from the start.
Now, the CTF is lagging behind two matches, but, 3 slayers and 3 total control matches. Those two challenges running in tandem.
Entirely possible there’s no weighing, and everything is just a coincidence, but to eliminate doubt, things should be looked into.

So, a couple of hours means, 6 to 10 games?

Tbf I also had this issue. Last week I needed 3 Slayer kills, but I got like 6 Stockpile matches and a handful of Total Control and CTF before I even got a single Slayer match.

Granted, I’ve had the same happen with no challenges, but this is anecdotal evidence. I’ve only had a single Slayer match in Ranked so far. All others have been Oddball, with a single CTF and Strongholds match. I’ve played maybe about 15 ranked matches so far.

Really? Everyone and their mom has been asking for challenges that encourage people to win games. Now we got it. Not to mention that the Ultimate challenge should be kinda hard.

The only thing left is to get a reward that is worth a damn out of it.
