Ever used a Mounted Turret? My shots were firing to the right of my reticule, at a very noticeable angle.
And yet, I never hear anyone complain about it.
Edit: I’m tired and mixed up the terms, the point is still there.

I would imagine no one complains because it is one of those things you don’t notice but because everyone uses the dmr every game then you notice the aim assist

If the DMR has an aim assist, I’ve never noticed it before.
There are very few people (mostly MLG-oriented no-lifes) who really doesn’t like aim assist. Huuuge majority would be really pissed if there was no aim assist for most of weapons, that’s because gamepad is no mouse and Halo is no Quake.
Only weapon that has annoying aim assist in Halo 4 is DMR. That’s not because it has bigger aim assist than rest of weapons (it doesn’t), but because it’s one-shot and because of that aim assist is more noticable. If DMR wasn’t overpowered little who would complain about aim assist.

What? This is coming from a guy who uses it every match.
And complaining about Aim Assist on console gaming is somewhat stupid.

Btw, there are military shooters on consoles which doesn’t have aim assist. But that’s different type of gameplay.

Well I guess I didn’t notice it as I don’t shoot players who are standing still.
Not sure if trolling…
You may not shoot at people standing still but if you mean to tell me you have never been trying to aim at someone and had your reticule pull toward his teammate who runs into help I dont know if you’re paying very close attention.
It is not a subtle pull on the reticule it is a full on switch of targets with you doing nothing. That is to much magnetism.
The dmr feels far too sticky around targets for my liking. If I’m shooting at someone I’ll often get my gun “pull” to one side if someone else sprints across the path of my cross hair. Annoying if its the last shot. The bullet magnetism adds to this ease of use for the H4 DMR superiority… oh yeah and the fire rate, not being descoped, and general spam ability

Try to aim close to people but miss on purpose, the game won’t allow it because the aim assist is ridiculous.
Then you’ll see it.
Well, guess I’m a ‘no life’ who doesn’t like aim assist, then.
Why? Because it makes it HARDER for me to shoot. I grew up on games that didn’t have any aim assist, so I’m used to doing all aiming manually. In games that have had aim-assist as an option (other than non-shooters that have some aiming sections in them which can otherwise be annoying) I’ve always turned it off, because it is pretty much guaranteed to throw off my aim.
I’m sure that if I played Halo 4 solidly for a while I’d get used to it and stop noticing, but as it is I don’t have the time for that and it remains a problem for me. shrug
That and I think it contributes to the over use of the BR and DMR.

The same chaps that are arguing for no aim-assist would get rocked without it.
Then they would cry because Halo 4 has balance issues.
OP, I believe you’re confusing “aim assist” with “bullet magnetism”.
Aim assist is the “sticky reticle” effect that drags your cursor along with the target without much input from the thumbstick.
Bullet magnetism is what you described, where the bullets track your target without you aiming at it completely.

I looked for the part where anyone called you a “no life”, I didn’t find it.

Thanks for pointing that out, messed up the terms.
Thread title has been fixed, many thanks.
In Reach not any idiot could use the D.M.R. and get kills just by hitting the trigger. why they made such a drastic change is only to keep the game easy enough for the fools they are trying to sell this crap game to.
you cant have skilled people with pinpoint accuracy using a fully functional jet packs discouraging the new group introduced to the new title, they had to level the playing field so they made 4 so small children’s hand - eye coordination could keep up…
halo fans are getting old, grown men are not going to be stupid enough to purchase another bad title despite having a disposable income… it’s a kids game now and sales are generated by the soccer mom demographic which 40% of video games are bought by woman over 35. thus we saw the significant drop in price over the holiday to $39.99 not only to get a copy in every home, but to market to moms who do not want to give the kids a bloody war game like C.O.D.
and thsts why I put my greedy children in a foster home

That’d be this gem;
> There are very few people (mostly MLG-oriented no-lifes) who really doesn’t like aim assist.
So, yeah. I don’t like aim assist. Not out of snobbery, I just don’t like the game throwing my aim off when I’m not expecting it.

Changed the thread title.
Also, I never liked MLG or overly competitive gaming, so I can’t add anything there.

Me neither, I never touched Arena or MLG in Reach, or Halo 3 for that matter (MLG there) because, meh.
That said, I like games to be balanced, and when one or two weapons have a massive advantage other others, then that’s a problem.
