Modeled and actually ingame somewhere, and I’m almost pretty sure frankie confirmed it exists on neogaf. Would anyone like to show me a picture of it in game if they’d seen it?
What?! That’s exciting!! Got any links to that NeoGaf post?
If true, then I gotta see this.
That would have been amazing to fight at the end of Halo 4!Too bad it just ended the way it did…tears.
I sure hope that we fight the Didact when he’s inside his war sphinx. That would truly be another awesome boss fight.Though i hope it takes way more than it did with Tartarus.Like huge explosion’s,epic music, and utter chaos all around.Thing’s like the screen shaking, loss of gravity here and there, lasers, explosions, building’s falling down all around. With the 720 they could do some really crazy stuff while the game is still running at 30+ frames, or at least i hope so XD.
Needless to say, it must be a endgame boss fight and must be EPIC!!!
One to remember at least lol.
> The concept Bungie made looks amazing. I really hoped we would see em in H4.
it looks like a forerunner chicken…

Hahaha. I see it. Never caught that before…
I always thought that that picture was just fanart. But it seems to be posted on their site so I guess its real.
I love how much more robotic it looks than the prometheans do. The prometheans are trying too hard not to be robots despite being robots.

It is fanart. It’s made by Leviathan, the guy who made Fistful of Arrows, which was also posted on Bungie.net. Fistful of Arrows as amazing as it is is not canon so neither is that concept. Though I do love the concept.
Ah, so I was right then.
It just doesn’t look like normal video game concept art.
On a similar topic, the gondola on Shutdown seems to remind me of the scarab’s chasis. I almost wonder if, like halo 2, its the ‘salvaged’ forerunner tank again.
I call the War Sphinx, a Promethean Dragon! It looks like one more than Sphinx.

I’d hate to burst your bubble, but its not by Bungie. That’s a fan art by the guy who wrote Fistful of Arrows

Amen! Halo campaign needs big boss fights. The Didact as a one-button boss was such a let down. Here’s hoping the next gen platform can give us stuff like this… Forerunner war sphinxes… Flood tank forms that are the size of tanks… gargantuan Hunters (like in Legends)… and the Chief running circles around them all…

The point of that particular legend you are talking about with the hunter was to represent the story of the arbiter. It has obviously evolved into a myth/tall tale with one hero taking down impossible odds. I must stress that they are Impossible odds. Can’t stand when people take that video literally, sorry. The hunter was not that big when he actually faced it. It is the same idea of the fish you tell about catching being a foot longer than the one you caught.
Sorry I took so long, but here is the post from Neogaf. Its not exactly confirmation but someone has seen it and frankie doesn’t exactly deny it exits, he said “we should have done more with those elements” which seems to me like he meant we should have used those things more.
I don’t have a neogaf account nor can I make one so I couldn’t ask the user where, I also did a quick google search and couldnt find anything.

Or how about as a usable Promethean vehicle?
Or, both, even. Just make the Didact’s a super-decked-out one, maybe even supersize it.
I have a thought on this one.
In the level “Composer” with the room with the 2 hunters, there’s all those forerunner artifacts in tubes. One of them is an eye-ball like thing. When inspecting it, the data log says that it looks like it could be an “Ocular sensor or a weapon” (I’ll try to go back and get the real line, but that’s the gist of it), and it LOOKS like an eyeball attachment to something huge. I bet it’s a sphinx’s eye.

Could you get a picture of it? My Halo 4 currently doesn’t work too well, that would be greatly appreciated.

Well, now we know why Promethean turrets unusually take so much damage.

Uh… Why?
How are we supposed to fight a war sphinx? A war sphinx would solo the infinity!
