DLC maps can’t show up unless everyone in the game owns them, which isn’t a guarantee.
You could try out the Crimson DLC playlist which was introduced today if you fancy playing Harvrest, Shatter and Wreckage.
Bungie made DLC maps mandatory in most playlists in Halo 3. It added a lot of variety to BTB. Just a tip…
Anyways, I’ll try the Crimson DLC playlist. Any reason why there isn’t just an “all DLC” playlist instead of only having three maps at one time? The Castle maps could easily be bundled with the Crimson maps in one playlist to offer more variety.
Or just make two DLC playlists: 8 v 8 DLC and 4 v 4 DLC…
I started to submit player reviews. Everytime when dlc map would show up I would prefer all players so chance of playing again with those players would increase.
Sometimes I would check players profile and if i see some achievements from some dlc i would submit prefer.
Hopefully the Champions Bundle DLC is popular and we see the maps rotated in easily which I definitely will buy.

The number of people who own DLC is extremely low, you’d just be killing playlists if you put mandatory DLC requirements on them.
An all DLC playlist isn’t likely to happen because the Majestic Map Pack was designed and plays with 2v2/4v4 in mind, while Castle is 6v6 and Crimson is 8v8. They could definitely put Crimson & Castle together in one playlist, but it won’t be permanent.
Having two DLC playlists isn’t an option either, they are trying to reduce the amount of playlists they have active at any time, introducing two under populated lists isn’t going to help that out.
Lets say that you merge Crimson and Castle into one playlist. And you put it instead of current dlc playlist. Number of playlist will remain the same.
And another week they change it with new playlist instead of Majestic DLC playlist.
They put playlist with all 4v4 maps and Majestic maps with same gametypes that are now in dlc playlists.

Or you’d be giving players an incentive to buy the DLC ;). Bungie did that with Halo 3 and it worked well.

Complex was originally designed as a 4 v 4 map, yet it flows much better with 8 v 8 gametypes. Harvest is another example of a map that was designed for 4 v 4, but is large enough to accommodate 8 v 8.
The problem with the current rotating playlist system is that it does not provide for every type of player. I prefer playing big maps with vehicles and big teams, but lots of other players prefer playing the smaller maps. Players want options, not “wait and see what small portion of DLC maps you get to play this month”.
I’ve bought every Halo map pack since Halo 3, but I’m not sure if I’m willing to spend another 800 MSP on the next map pack. I mean, if the maps aren’t going to see the light of day in regular matchmaking, what’s the point?
“Squad DLC” - 5v5
Majestic pack, Champions pack, Harvest, Daybreak, and Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes.
“BTB DLC”- 8v8
Crimson pack, Castle pack, Forge Island variants. Mix of Slayer and Objective gametypes.
To make room put BTIS and Big Team Skirmish together and make the BTB playlist everyone’s been asking for. Put Regicide in Rumble Pit. Get rid of CTF as a standalone and make a 5v5 Objective playlist. Bam, done.
Who cares what the pops of the DLC playlists would be at least they would be there for the people who spent money on them.
You’re lucky then. I get Wreckage in BTIS all the time and I hate Wreckage. I get DLC a fair amount of games. I’d like to see it come up more but people didn’t buy map packs. Don’t think much can be done aside from restricting playlists which I would be OK with but I have all the maps.

Well quit playing nothing but big team and you’ll get different maps.
Just not DLC. DLC maps are a myth, I don’t think they actually exist.
Okay, here’s what you do.
Combine the current BTB playlists into one. Then create a BTB DLC playlist (6v6 minimum) for the crimson and castle maps.
Consolidate the dedicated objective playlists to remove clutter. Get rid of multi team and snipers (seriously, who cares) and when the time comes create a 4v4 majestic and bullseye DLC playlist.
Attach double XP and/or challenges to both playlists. Profit.
