So I had an urge for Competitive Halo

So what did I do? I jumped into SWAT, then did a couple of games in Throwdown, considered snipers but instead went for social in Dominion.

It’s not like there’s a lack of Competitive playlists…

:open_mouth:

SWAT and Throwback? Is that it?

SWAT and Snipers aren’t competitive.

Lol swat and snipers competitive… only throwdown is.

Your first thought when looking for a competitive atmosphere was SWAT?

Am I missing something here! Everyone said at launch SWAT was competitive. The skill of holding your reticule at head hight and fighting through quick-shot hordes, and snipers is the skill of stealth. I actually played snipers, which felt quick but skilled.

By definition, every playlist is competitive.

Most people fail to realize this fact.

Flood? Grifball? Infinity Slayer? So competitive bro.

Well, you’re still technically “competing”, just not the way most people want.

Ahaha yeah

Oh the irony of why Halo 4 is in the condition it is today… Thank you Waypoint!

You’re assuming they have the very basic vocabulary skills to know what “competitive” means…

Flood?
Competitive people try to become Last Man Standing every round and garner the most kills while staying alive. Those same players as the flood are trying to prevent the humans from scoring alot in any one specific round.

Grifball?
Is this a joke? Grifball has an entire competitive community behind it (grifballhub) and the general consensus is to “win” the match. With team mechanics and room for different skill sets, this playlist is fairly competitive.

IS?
Even with random ordnance you still have to be good with positioning, strafe, shot, flanking etc. IS, moreso than BTB, requires a team effort to win (not just solitary kill campers racking up their K/D). Playing the Majestic Team IS playlist, you tend to find more teams competing to win.

Nothing more frustrating than ignorant “competitive” players assuming that nothing else in Halo could be competitive other than 4v4 on arena style maps.

> By definition, every playlist is competitive.

But then again, by definition every playlist is casual…

Which then leads to beg what do you mean by competitive?

Throwdown is by far the most competitive. I get wrecked hard there when I usually do okay in every other playlist. Shutout is an awesome map too, a shame I didn’t get to play it before Halo 4.

infinity slayer is the new competitive playlist. me and my team realized that when H4 came out and adapted to it, crafting strategy and callouts and everything else. we didnt just sit around whining about what may or may not have been competitive in the past.

Infinity should not be used in the same sentence as competitive unless there is a big “is not” between the two.

Not sure why people don’t consider Team Snipers competitive, but I can see why they don’t consider SWAT competitive.
