The mode had such potential. It may still be in the game and well yeah I’d play it but it won’t feel right without Spartan V Elites, I had been waiting for SVE since Halo 2 online days and I would have loved 343i to have built on the SVE aspect Bungie tried to get going.
Oh well, I guess we all can’t get what we want.
Still loving Halo 4 so far though!
Post things that you will miss that aren’t in Halo 4.
Didn’t Frankie say they’re doing something to compensate for Invasion? Just because Elites are out doesn’t mean they can’t do it. After all, MP is supposed to be a simulation in-universe, so it wouldn’t matter if Spartans are fighting Spartans. Plus, both sides could utilize the entire weapon/vehicle sandbox, would might be a blessing in disguise (don’t get me wrong, I loved the idea of Elites and Spartans fighting each other with their appropriate tech, but 343 can still make an awesome gametype out of the idea that revolves around the basic concept of successive phases, culminating with core retrieval).
> I think I’d much rather play Rush than Invasion. Having both sides have equal player traits and mostly the same weapons.
Meh, one of the main things I liked about Invasion was how the battle escalated, not just in terms of power weps and vehicles, but also in loadout progression.

I didn’t think loadouts would even need to be mentioned since custom loadouts are already in the main game.

They can be disabled in custom settings and replaced with preset ones.
I would like to see Invasion return but in the form of a spinoff game, sort of like Reach. The maps would be bigger, it would have a larger player count, it would sort of be like Battlefield-Halo. I think Invasion was great but it didn’t get enough time put into it, but if it was its own game I think it would be pretty fun. The people who like big team games would love it.

The problem with making Invasion anything other than 6v6 is that map quality would degrade heavily. The design of invasion maps is basically down to a science (see here: Forging Reach: Forging Invasion: Lesson 1 - Introduction). It’s really a heavily strategy based and squad-based gametype, and making teams any larger than 6 or 8 players would play hell with map design.

Didn’t care for it. Personally I thought it was an awful addition.
