Being from England I was asleep while this was going on and obviously playing against other players is a completely different experience than playing against bots, so how did it go?
Wa a good
A rude awakening! Still loved it though. The bots are great but you can’t replace people, we’re just so spontaneous. A good example would be Bazaar, playing this map with bots was mostly focused on the main area. With people you could get into a fight anywhere.
Another good example would be match starts. Bots come out in a group. Either left open area on the Academy map or the pit area in Recharge. Humans? They do whatever they want.
I’m grateful for bots helping me review the map and learning the new mechanics but playing humans was the real thing.
playing against people was a sobering experience for sure. I was humbled my first match went like 8-14. Next few matches I brought it back and finished the night 5-3 or smth, cant remember how many I played, but I was up 2 at least by end of night. I have to say, I’m on pc and I play with a controller in my left hand and mouse in my right for aiming and smooth movement. This game should be played by everyone at 120 FOV. EVERY design decision they made in this game makes so much more sense at 120 FOV, the recoil, the bloom, the commando, the melee range, everything. your reticle is smalle,r which means less visual distance for bloom to screw you, and it helps mentally too.
How was registration?
It showed how hardcore the game will be at the competitive level. Casually I think it still has a solid foundation however the skill gap in this game night be the largest in the series.
