So how is Halo:CEA?

I have unfortunately not been able to pick it up yet myself so I was wondering how everyone here feels about it?

I heard there were issues with cutscenes where the dialogue became out of sync with the video, is this true? If so that is going to bother me to no end  the cutscenes are some of the best part of the game.

Also I heard that sometimes music does not play when it is supposed to. Is that true as well? That would ruin the atmosphere of the game.

Love it.

It’s great. It’s everyone I know and love about the original, but in HD with nicer visuals. Admittedly, the visuals in the original are dull, but I get used to them after playing it for a while. But this… this is like seeing a whole new game but still feels very familiar.

Then there’s the skulls: I love skull hunting. I refuse to look at guides simply because one of the biggest reasons I play the campaign is to have fun trying to reach odd places and hope there’s a prize for succeeding!

Same goes with these terminals. They’re amazingly gorgeous looking, and they really keep with the mysterious, ominous feeling of the game. That shows me that 343 hasn’t lost touch of the mystique of the beginning of the series, which gives me high hopes for anything else they’ll release.

The multiplayer is good, in that it’s more fun than playing Reach maps with Reach settings. True, it’s still not the original multiplayer, but that doesn’t bother me too much. It’s a step in the right direction, and they did the best with what they had, so as not to modify the original game code and keep it classic, but yet tweak Reach’s engine as much as they could. Trying to re-do the physics and feel of the original, and launch a whole new platform would be insanely costly and time consuming. We wouldn’t wait that long for a remaster, especially if it meant delaying Halo 4 even more.

I’d give it a 8.5/10. It could have been better with more time, but it’s more than awesome enough to get me to shell out $39.99. Being able to play the game in 1080p alone is great; having all the other extras? Fantastic.
