Considering bs angel said it’s not strictly post count so I’m thinking no.
Why does it always have to be UNSC ranks? why can’t the ranks be something more interesting, like halo characters and forerunner castes? ‘zealot’ ‘gravemind’ and ‘forerunner’ sound like rather interesting ranks, and would make it more unique than just having tiers for each rank.

I think because we’re all suppose to be Spartan IV’s … although the system has been around since before Halo 4, so I’m not sure. Maybe for the sake of simplicity, and also because canonically, Waypoint exists as a means of communication between the colonies and Earth; sort of a post office or gmail of the future.

Not strictly, so perhaps it’s 11,117 posts and something else? Just because it isn’t related only to post count doesn’t mean that bit of information is incorrect. Maybe it also has to do with how many medals you get or something.

My best guess is that it also has to do with a medal count and what kind of a person you are here at Waypoint. (Somebody could make it to 11, 117 posts just simply off the Spartan Armor if they wanted.) If you’re friendly, helpful, that kind of thing. And if there is a ‘medal requirement’, and you didn’t achieve it yet, it probably just goes to when you do and that post count has a 117 somewhere in it.
