So how does the PC version of this game work?

I’m looking at the online vendors, including the microsoft website itself, but there’s no distinct option to purchase the game for PC. How would one play the game on PC? Also does the PC version of the game share servers with the Xbox version?

If you buy it digitally for Xbox One, you also get it for Windows 10 (sorry Linux and Mac). They will not share servers.

Is this currently active? If I purchase the MCC, via the online market place. I can play on my Windows 10 pc?

No, only games that support play anywhere functionality. Sorry mate, H5 and the MCC are console exclusive at the moment.
