after hw2 I was like “wow”. I want hw3 to talk more about the banished. Seeing atriox murder that holotable just made me want to see more of him. And the battle on the Ark. It was a huge cliffhanger. we need to see more. And Awakening the Nightmare was’nt enough(don’t get me wrong thet was awesome) we need more multiplayer too.

I feel like every 4.7th post on this forum deals with HW3…
343 is not a charity organisation; I guess that HW2 was a great game in every aspect and pushed the brand “Halo” and also the Xbox much further than maybe Halo 5, but it must have been waaaayyyy behind the financial expectations… thats really just sad IMO.
Microsoft & 343 are currently working heavily on Halo 6, and with the Line Up Sony releases it must be of such a quality, that it will not be released before the end of 2019.
After that maybe the first DevKit for the next Xbox will maybe handed over to Devs, with Scorpio released November 2017 I expect the Xbox Next to come end of 2021, even when Sony releases PS5 end of 2020, the Scorpio will be able to compete.
Microsoft works at the same time on Age 4 and also generally invests currently a lot more into its Gaming Sector. IF AGE 4 is a huge success, and also Iron Harvest shows great sale figures the Devs will be encouraged again to go for a Triple-A-RTS. Currently market acceptance and the time window are key and both show no sign for a quick release.
The next thing is that I see HW2 just starting, with the HWCL and spectator mode etc etc have been released so late the game just started to enter slowly a much more competitive scene. If 343 can keep the fire burning, with balancing and maybe, maybe, maybe more content to drop, they will polish the ground for a Halo Wars 3.

Could happen,but the banished could appear in halo 6
Campaign-wise, I would like a story that has a resolution, not just a hype up for their next game unless that game is another Halo Wars, but… Halo Wars 4? Probably not.
Multiplayer-wise I would like to see a new faction (either Flood, Promethean or Rebel) and no more than 9 leaders, 3 for each faction or so. I would also prefer the leader abilities to be toned down.
My model for gameplay and leader uniqueness would be as follows…

Every leader has 4 leader powers
i. Passive - example would be Forge’s economical advantages and grizzly tanks, or Ander’s cheap unit upgrades
ii. Utility - example would be teleport, pelican transport, a deployable sensor tower, Colony’s Living Barrier, or Arbiter’s Stasis
iii. Defense - example would be Forge’s Heavy Metal, deployable turrets, or YapYap’s grunt dome
iv. Offense - example would be glassing beam, archer missiles, mac blast, or any unit call-in ever.
These 4 themed abilities are all you need to have a very, very unique leader without causing too much imbalance and reliance on Leader Powers and have a healthy mix of tactics, unit composition, and leader power use.

Every leader has a special unit from their above mentioned passive
Such as Cutter = ODST Forge = Grizzly Anders = Hawk or Sentinel Atriox = Hammer brutes Shipmaster = Shrouds Decimus = Heavy Choppers/Prowler or something

The factions have very different units from their other faction counterparts, like HW 1 had it. Cobra vs Hunter Jackals vs Flamethrower Wolverine vs Vampire
