So Halo CEA is essentially...

I know folks are going to hate me but here goes.

For $40 Bucks I get:

  • The same game I already have, just more pretty. (Halo CE)
  • I get to play Campaign online with friends - something not too many people actually do.
  • I get new maps for Halo Reach (a game I already have too, but NEW maps.

Is that right? Is that all?

I mean the good stuff not the click this and find out “who the grunts mommy is,” stuff.

Am I wrong?

To be honest I am trying to decide between this game and another 1st person shooter that already came out. I won’t say the name here.

Before you dis me I am a true fan and always have been. I own ALL the games. (we except that one game Bungie did not make, I won’t mention that one either)

You get:
A campaign with all new graphics
Coop over live
findable skulls
Terminals with hints for Halo 4
Reach MP maps
new easter eggs
for Kinect there is the all new “analyze mode”
and best of all: ETC

Pretty much includes all of CE:As features, answers any questions you can think of for CE:A.

And from your list, what would YOU say are the biggest additions?

Is this supposed to be a good link. My browser is warning me about it.

It’s good. it’s just a link to another thread

It depends on how much you like or love CE to begin with.

If you’re questioning whether or not you should get it, given your attitude presented toward CEA, you probably didn’t enjoy it enough to enjoy it again with amazing visuals.

I knew someone would question my loyalty. Funny thing is I am ordering right now. CEA all the way baby! I’ll give the other game a try via rental.

I hear ya though. I have a strage way of asking questions. Thank I know.

I would say don’t dis the price, but whatever really. If you don’t want CEA, don’t get it. The maps will be released separately sometime after CEA releases, so it’s no loss not to get CEA.

its not the same campaign. its remastered with achievements, terminals, and skulls. Some people would call those “gimmicky” things, but I personally, am looking forward to the terminal videos the most because I love halo fiction,

40 bucks = goldmine?

Well if you don’t buy this one you aren’t obviously the true fan you make yourself out to be. Either buy it or don’t. Like Frank always says, ‘It’s for the fans’. So make your decision and move on. Nobody cares about you if you don’t.

Just for everybody’s information. You are essentially getting the Map pack for 1600 Ms Points = $15 so the remastered campaign is worth $25. So if you don’t buy it. You will be spending $15 on something that could have been combined with a campaign etc. for only another $25. Makes no sense should you wish not to buy Anniversary and then fork out the money for the maps. However it’s always your choice and your loss.

Ok…is that it?

I’m not truly trying to be hateful, but I’m not sure why anyone would waste effort in trying to convince you to purchase it.

You know what you’re getting.

If that’s not enough for you, I mean even if the Halo:CEA Single Player Campaign redone isn’t enough for you, then more power to you and move a long.

No one will lose sleep over you not purchasing it.

Just get Battlefield 3 or Modern Warfare 3.

If you must play Halo CE play pick up the PC port, it can even be mapped to a 360 controller if you desire. It also has online play using Halo CE’s original multiplayer not the trashy Reach multiplayer engine/mechanics.

With that attitude, it sounds like you’ve already decided  But I think your underestimating the amount of work that has gone into the game. I mean, it isn’t like it is just a simple up scaling to HD. Not to mention the 7 Reach maps which look fantastic… For £30/$40 I think that is a great price.

Pretty much. I don’t mind though. This will be the third version of CE I have bought. I own the original and the PC version. And admittedly I bought Halo PC so I could have the “Halo” name plate in Reach.
