Is the new Halo for Xbox One a reboot ?
Nope. It’s a continuation of Halo 4’s story so It’s probably Halo 5.
Why would it be a reboot? They still have Halo 5 and Halo 6 to put out.
If it was then why would it still say this “Final title to be announced at a later date.” on the video at Waypoint’s front page ?
343 could maybe do what JJ Abrams did to Star Trek.

I should have worded it better, I’m on no sleep . .
I don’t mean they would ditch all of Bungie’s Halo, I think they would pull a JJ Abrams (Abrams kept parts of old Strek Trek, but added his own stuff and perspective)

Yeah, it’s pretty safe to say between a War Sphinx (or at least that’s what it looks like) and the Cortana chip that this is Halo 5.

He could have went back in time to try and find a way to fix Cortana, and he could have the robe on to hide himself from UNSC personal guarding the time portal.

Things could get really interesting if Halo started getting into time travel.
Just because it says “Halo” doesn’t mean that it’s a reboot of Halo: CE. That seems very unlikely given the popularity of the original, 343’s desire to respect it, and the fact that it has already been re-released as Halo: Anniversary. I think Cortana’s AI chip, Chief’s armour and the Promethean machine convey that this is a continuation of the events of Halo 4.

Maybe they’re simply going away from the numbered titles kinda like the CoD series did.
