Watching the campaign trailer, we saw a huge elephant-esque vehicle that spat out a warthog. It’s heavily armored and really huge. Has anyone found confirmation that this is indeed the successor to Halo 3’s wildly popular and requested elephant?

I hope it is, I loved using that, but if it’s in MP then I hope it’s not like Halo 3 where you can only drive in the narrow outside, make a big map for it

that was bigger than the halo3 elephant…
Thats what it looks like - Hopefully they will be available in Multiplayer games and Forge, I really loved the Elephant in Halo 3.
There was some of these in the live action teaser too, it might be something like you suggest.
The Elephant was completely limited. It added nothing to the map and made for weird and kinda broken CTF games AND some pretty messed up games of Slayer too. In fact, it was so slow and crappy that maybe 1 in every 20 games did someone use it, and about half of those used it well.
Regardless, I’m glad it’s back <3
It looks way better than the original Elephant (assuming, of course, it is the Elephant’s successor), but I mean, the Elephant was big, but this dwarfs it! This thing is HUGE!
It’s the UNSC Mammoth. Threads get lost quickly now with thousands of people on the site. Here is a previous thread discussion about it:

Oh, I’m sorry. I wasn’t able to get on the forums at all yesterday because it was crashing so much and I searched it but didn’t get anything really. But I really hope we can use it in mp.

Maybe, but the only way that vehicle can be properly balanced out is if the Scarab was also usable in MP.
“Mammoth” doesn’t really suit it, mammoths are the same size as elephants. I was thinking more… “UNSC Tyrannosaurus Rex”.

How about…
“The UNSC Oh-my-god-that-thing-is-huge-and-it’s-about-to-kill-me.”
As long as it’s really hard to flip, but provides the hilarious results that the H3 Elephant did.
Whenever I get into Sandtrap, I get some friends to guard me and try to flip the Elephant, then launch myself into the air with RB

Anyone else notice that the huge window looks like the visor of a Spartan helmet?
Compare the visor of this helmet to the window of that thing and paint the visor green.

Lol, now that you mention it, it kind of does, but that’s probably just a coincidence.
I really hope so. It is great in Halo! But it seems tremendously bigger then the Halo 3 Elephant so it is probably going to be named something else.

Wait a second… there is a building in the backround behind that tall plant to the left…
They would be awesome in campaign, multiplayer, forge and custom games. It looks like it has multiple different floors and looks like more of a base than the Halo 3 elephant. The driver will also be much more protected unless you can actually destroy this vehicle.
It really looks awesome. I love the paint, and the scratches on it. Im still in awe at it’s size. 343i really are doing everything right in this game. Even the haters are stunned into silence!

Indeed. Also, if you look between the front ramp and the front wheel on the right side of the picture, it looks as though there is a smaller ramp leading into the side. Can’t tell for sure, though.
EDIT:
And, the front wheel is separated from the back two, as you can see from the left side of the vehicle. Therefore, there could be a door/ramp inbetween them?
gotta get those elephant splatters
