Almost everyone on this forum says that Reach isn’t nearly as good as Halo 3, but it seems that 10 times more people are playing on Reach right now. For sure Reach multiplayer is more different from Halo 3 than Halo 3 was from Halo 2, but is it a right way? I’m not talking about blooms (Halo 3 had that too, but it wasn’t shown on your crosshair…), and AA. Reach and Halo 3 just looks, plays and feels different.
So with Halo 4, would like to have something more similar to Reach or Halo 3? Maybe something different from what you’ve seen? I would love to see Halo 3 multiplayer with all improvements, modern shooters have (assists, modern matchmaking, etc.), but with same feeling (physics, dual wield, stronger melee, etc.) Halo 3 has. Halo Reach is a bit “stiff” for me.
It should be more like Halo 4.
A sequel to Halo 3. Forget Halo:Reach ever existed.

THIS, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THIS!
It should play like Halo 4. It is not Halo 3.5
Halo 4 has to be so good that people forget about both lol. Probably not gonna happen though
20% Halo: Reach (amount of content, graphics engine, experience and customisation).
20% Halo 3 (addictive gameplay and heart of story).
20% Originality from Halo 1 & 2 (soundtrack and feel etc).
40% Halo 4 for everything else.
> It should play like Halo 4. It is not Halo 3.5
The game is supposed to be a sequel. That means it improves on the old game’s features and adds more options. It does not mean that perfect game mechanics that have been in the game for 9 years have to be scraped.
It can’t be totally different, it has to have that Halo flavour to it. That said I don’t want it to be like Halo 3 or Reach, not even like Halo 2. It needs to stand on its own merits taking aspects from previous Halos and adding something new.
Halo 4 should be the sequel to Halo 3, Halo 2, and Halo. It should not be the sequel to Halo: Reach, which was a spinoff.
Halo 4 should simply be what every Halo game did.
Follow up on the addicting gameplay while adding fresh and new features. That’s ever Halo in a nutshell. No questions. Even Halo 1! How, you say? Halo 1 learned from Marathon and made it better.
Keep the community pork and add in new things. It’s worked this far, it’ll work some more.
HALO 3!!! with a mix of things reach did right with improvements, like:
Radar system
Custom search
Forge
search prefrences
netcode

You mean the first 6, right?

People who feel strongly about something will post about it, people saying “95% of halo fans don’t like reach cuz thats what it looks like on the forums” Are just wrong for obvious reasons (Re-read beginning of sentence.)
But I want it to play like halo 4, a bit of halo 3, a bit of halo reach, and some new stuff. If I wanted to play halo 3, I’d just put halo 3 in my xbox and play it.
At this very moment there are 108601 players online playing halo. There are 75 of us on these forums right now.
With most ever on these forums at 588. There has yet to be a day where over a thousand people have been on the forums at any given time.
So unless you dont know math at all, it doesnt take a genius to figure whats up.
People like reach except for 75 of you, and 343i would be out of the -Yoinking!- minds to listen to ANY OF YOU. For dev insights.

Yes. Consider it done.
Halo 2
Halo 4 is a numerical sequel to Halo 3 and that’s it. Just because 4 comes after 3 doesn’t meant Halo 4 should be an expansion of Halo 3.
And it doesn’t matter what we want, what only matters what Halo 4 actually is. What it “should” or shouldn’t be isn’t up to us, it’s up to the developer. So let 343 do their damn job without you people backseat-driving.

Exactly this.
