So last night, I played a Swat Game (Link: Game). Bare in mind, I didn’t really do that good besides playing Swat not like an idiot and actually playing slow and smart. I got messaged by a player in this game telling me, “Cheater Reporting”, and then again, “Reported”. In the middle of the game.
I just thought I would share and ask, how does Microsoft handle false reporting? Because I literally did nothing wrong except play the game well.
This happened to me a while back. Random slayer game. I didn’t even do that well, maybe like 18-13. Guy messages me saying I was modding and he was going to report me and get me banned. I told him you couldn’t mod in H5( dedicated servers, no modded x1’s, etc.), but he insisted he was going to get me banned for modding. Nothing came of it, but some insight to the process microsoft takes would be interesting.
A bunch of reports must be made of a player before any action. No worries if just one idiot reported you.

Just report them for unsportsmanlike and in the comments say they falsely accused you of cheating and reporter you and sent you messages accusing you of cheating.

Yeah, it’s pretty stupid, someone get’s out shot and think you are cheating or have an aimbot.

I figured as much, but it was him and his friend, so It may have been two reports.

This is true, although I guess I would wait to see if Microsoft actually messages me and then defend myself.
If you’re reported for modding then you’re already safe. Xb1 can’t be modded like previous consoles. Plus to those who ask how they handle false reports, you can look it up on their website
but in short they have their ways to look into false reports just for the sake of reporting or if it’s legit. Odds are when there’s 10+ reports on you in one day then some guy got pissed and told his buddies to spam report. Microsoft has a way to tell a pattern, and if the pattern is all of a sudden going up, false reports, if you consistently get say one report a week, chances are eventually that catches up to you.
14 and 8. How is that cheating. That’s a perfectly average match if you ask me. I wouldn’t start raising warning flags until I see someone that is running like 20 and 2.
You should be flattered someone took the time out of their day to message you personally!
But it reflects their level of rage with themselves and the game that they’d stoop so low. Sad really.

Exactly, I left confused, I think it was because I just has really good aim/reflexes that game.
Sometimes I just want to facepalm when people accuse others of cheating or hacking or modding on the Xbox One.

Yeah they say that on their website, but it’s really not anything like that. All it comes down to is each time you get reported you lose some rep, for every minute/game you aren’t reported you gain rep. As your rep gets lower it becomes harder to regain rep and easier to lose rep. All of the types of reporting affect in the same way as far as I’m aware too. I called up support and they told me what my reports where for. When I asked them how I could cheat on a game that can’t be modded, they had no reply, yet still wouldn’t remove my red rep.
It’s an absolute joke how their system works. On my way to the Team Slayer 50 I got into red rep 3 times. Twice for the H3 50 and once on my way to the doubles 50. Essentially a bunch of nerds block and report you as it reduces their chances of matching you. A load of players used to do this to everyone good they matched so that they could get easy games against casual players and rank up. I managed to go through 8 prestiges on Titanfall because of this as the only way you can get your rep back up, is by playing games without being reported. You also have to join a friends session in progress if you are red rep as if you search on your own, you can only match others with red rep.
My advice to you is if your rep ever goes to orange (needs work) go play a game other than halo for about 10 games and that should get you back up to green. Getting out of red is an absolute grind to do meaning playing for hours without getting reported, surprisingly hard to do when you’re not awful at games as a large amount of xbl players are evidently cry babies who would implement ‘safe spaces’ on xbl if they could.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve had 7 reports for cheating because of Warzone rounds were I just completely went off. You can look at what people have reported about you over at the policy and enforcement section at Xbox.com. It takes a pattern of reports to get banned, not just a couple random people that got mad you took them to school. No worries.

Sure, but the issue is that the better you are, the more likely you are to get reported more frequently. This awful reputation system affected many of the top Old school players that it got to the point that once myself and a load of other good players got out of red rep, a load of awful players had managed to achieve 50 as they hadn’t been matching many good players.

There are loads of videos of people complaining about the rep system being abused. Awful system and definitely a contributing factor to why the MCC has such a low population.
When I’d checked last I had more than 70 total complaints filed and I’ve never cheated on any game in my life. Been in red rep more than 5 times.

Don’t worry about it, absolutely nothing will happen. I’ve had these messages before from simpletons that don’t understand how to play the game. I had 30 kills and about 5 deaths, totally dominated them on a social gametype. I got a message that said “nice aimbot”, I was like “what”, and they replied “noob”. Yeah ok lol.
Some people get salty when they lose, it’s just the way it goes. I’m sure we’ve all been salty at one time or another when getting destroyed in Halo lol.

Yeah that does piss me off. They need a better system. I hope I don’t get red rep ever.
14-8 comeon. That peasant who tried to report you was a skrub
Too many cry babies play this game. I have gotten whooped and did not care.
Like they’ve said before; one random rager isn’t going to get anything to happen to you. Microsoft knows people rage and use the system to submit false reports. Its a gamer staple; look at CS:GO for example.
