nice job 343
You’re welcome.
Yep. 343i know how to separate noobs that think they are MLG with real one.
ATM yes
Although im sure it will be fixed
Not just flag running, but any sort of depth in Capture the Flag.
… You touch the flag, you pick it up.
In the same motion that you pick up the flag, you Highlanderly pull out a magnum into your right.
I don’t know about you, but though I may not be able to sprint or juggle, I sure as hell am not waiting for the animations to stop before running away with the flag.

Flag juggling added depth to CTF. Players could juggle it and gain increased movement, but have a semi-constant waypoint over their head. Alternatively, one could just walk it slowly, but without anyone knowing where he is. There are certain situations where either fit in, and it requires players to put thought into their flag pulls. Much more dynamic than the simple “Get the flag at point A, and bring it to point B.”

Good luck Running the Flag with a waypoint over you at all times - and no matter what weapons you have don’t worry you can’t use them but the other team can when you die

Thats what you are supposed to do. It doesn’t need to be more complicated than that.

But there is no thought in it. You are simply holding forward until you reach your base. It has become less of a capture and defend gametype, and more of a VIP mission.
I get so pissed off reading this thread and the othef CTF threads
How can 343 not get pissed/embarassed/sorry?
They ruined it. I dont have to play it Frankie, I know it sucks.
I just dont -Yoinking!- get it.

exactly. With the big waypoint over your head saying “HERE I AM SHOOT ME” when you playing a good team your run will last 2.5 seconds

“Do it! Do it! Come on! Kill me, I’m here! Do it now! Kill me!”

That’s quite the loss of perception.
You infiltrate the base, you kidnap the VIP, you run the VIP back to base, but in 2VIP, all the while you’re defending your own VIP at the same time this is happening.
If I replace VIP with flag and kidnap with steal, what do I get?
Flag juggling doesn’t change above scenario much in MLG because as far as I’ve seen, the option be stealthy or show your position is only exercised in “low” level CTF games. In high level games, there’s too much action going on so teams 99% of the time decide to juggle the flag back, relying on spawn traps to get the flag back.
That’s not having more thought, that’s running the same strategy over and over.
People seem to be forgetting that there will be custom games which means that you change the settings for the gametype, which MLG will do without a doubt.

Flag dropping; that particular option is not available at release. Perhaps in a Megalo or TU change a few months from launch, or if there really is a huge uproar against there being only Flagnums, but not until then.

Good maybe MLG will actually be entertaining to watch now. Instead of exploiting something in the game and cheating to win.

If I could thank you more than once for this, I would. I hate the circus, therefore I hate flag-juggling clowns.
God forbid MLG uses custom settings to turn off the flagnum, auto-pickups, and not being able to drop the flag.

Thanks!
It’s just this flag-juggling thing is so damn cheap. It’s also very noobish in my opinion.
Oh, and to everyone mad about losing power weapons while picking up the flag. DON’T pick up the flag! Such a easy solution isn’t it?
And this whole argument about ‘accidentally’ picking up the flag in ridiculous.
