I dont know if a lot of other people have this problem, but in the hundreds of halo matches I have played I have only ever been in 1 where someone had a mic. That 1 time someone had their mic on was an accident because 2 seconds after he coughed he muted his mic and never put it back on. My friends don’t seem to have this problem (as they have had many matches where their team all communicated)
I understand not wanting to talk to strangers, but when you’re playing slayer at least try to stick together. Almost every time 2 people attack 1 person the 2 people will win (and I have the losses to prove it) even doing the bare minimum like marking locations would be better than just running off to take on 4 people by yourself.
The description of slayer says “work as a team of 4”.
But slayer aside, this problem is made worse in WZ and WZFF. Both of which are heavily team oriented, and have the worst teamwork i have seen. The closest to teamwork i have seen is when 2 scorpions were watching eachother and keeping people from boarding. But that happened once.
This is an issue with every single multiplayer game and wont be solved by posting on a forum unfortunately. The only true remedy to these issues is to make a lot of friends so you always have social people to talk with and coordinate with. we are long gone from the age of games where people in matchmaking have mics and are willing to talk. Most are lazy / expecting carrys until you get to super high ranks anyway lol.

Yeah that is true. Even if you have friends with you, the nature of wz makes it difficult for small teams to be able to cooperate properly.
The main issue is coming from the use of external chats like xbox party chats, discord etc. what Cetra Lucinda said below, is probably your best fix to this problem.

My Teammates not having Mics can be pretty bothering and kinda boring that’s why I play with Friends who have Mics most of the time when I can
