Just been watching some of the new warzone gameplay, and I gotta say I’m loving the new banshee design. Now, I’m not hallucinating, but it looks like it now has shields?
I’m guessing it’s for enemy AI variation, and a canonical explanation as to why bosses have so much ‘health.’ (For example, Tartarus in H2)

Watch this, hopefully that’s the right link…
There’s a part where the dude hijacks a banshee, about halfway through. Looks like it has shields and is player controlled, not the red boss one.
Yep

Huh, well, the more you know.
Probably along the lines of the Mantis from H4, then

It’s probably just that banshee, tied to the boss, and if you hijack it you keep the shields.

No. All banshees have shields. Even when you just spawn with them.
I feel like this is going to be their answer to the paper vehicle health problem. If so, its not enough, especially if the health layer of the banshee under the shields is still as weak as it was in Halo 4. The Mantis shields are easy to take down, its like taking down a Spartan’s shields. I predict that the Banshee shields will be able to take about the same amount of damage.
The Banshee (as well as every other vehicle in the sandbox) needs to be resistant to small arms fire from weapons like the AR, Pistol, BR, and DMR. But if they’re just adding shields to the Banshee, it makes me worried that the terrible vehicle health system that has been lingering since Reach hasn’t been completely tossed. And after introducing so many new grenade launchers and heavy weapons too…

And the general increase of abilities to base spartans, vehicles need more aces up their sleeves now more than ever.

Very true. I think that they’ll increase the speed of the vehicles to account for sprint and thrusters being base abilities. The banshee seemed to fly a lot faster in the gameplay footage of warzone.

The Mantis also seemed very quick, and with a very accurate machine gun(yesss) that kills well and even the rockets are more focused too. It also jumped at one point and it flew quite well lol.
Didn’t notice until now. Ultimately a good thing, the H4 banshee couldn’t last long purely because it would take tiny amounts of chip damage in every bombing run. This fixes that.
Plus, did you see the flips that Warthog made in the trailer after getting hit by the Plasma Caster?
I mean, they’ve always been so fragile, so this is nice to see.
The shields look great
Am I the only one who thinks the forerunner air vehicle looks amazing?

I thought it looked epic, that little warp boost thing seemed fun too.

I thought it’d be larger from the megablocks kit, but its pretty cool.
Honestly its nice to see covie vehicles with shields finally, it always seemed like odd design not to include them. Especially in CE when they had their own health.
